My wife and I had an awesome time in Lisbon. The apartment was perfect for us. Excellent location with a myriad of restaurants and bars to choose from. The outdoor terrace was ideal. Joao keeps the apartment immaculate. We picked up sushi at the Cafe Dozo across the street often and ate at Valdo Gatti (italian) three times. Both places were excellent. There were three Irish pubs close by. Cheers has live music. The Lumi rooftop bar was also excellent. We walked to Chiado and Baixa and the riverfront on multiple days. We would not hesitate to recommend this place and would stay here again. It was a great find and excellent value.

My husband and our two children (ages 6 and 8) stayed at Carla’s apartment for 10 days during our stay in Lisbon. We had a wonderful stay, and here are my reasons why: Location. Carla’s apartment is in the centre of Chiado (best shopping district in Lisbon) and close to EVERYTHING that a family with young children needs. Within minutes you can walk to restaurants (high and low end), beautiful cafes, grocery stores, produce stands, pharmacies, and most importantly the metro. We relied on public transport heavily as we took day trips to Cascais, Sintra, the Lisbon aquarium, and the Lisbon zoo. It was easy to walk to different subway stations (even with our young children) from her apartment, and plenty to see during our walks. There is quite a bit of nightlife in the area (I always felt safe, even walking around at 11PM with my kids), and we were able to block out the noise when it was bedtime by closing the shutters. Apartment amenities. The apartment was clean and spacious and had everything that we needed to make our stay comfortable. I was most grateful for the washing machine since I wanted to pack lightly (no dryer which is typical in Lisbon), and Carla set up the clothes drying line for us which is in the house and off to the side so it was not in our way). I was also grateful for her two large fans. There were two very hot days while we were there, and although there is no air conditioning (normal in Lisbon), the apartment was very cool and comfortable, and the fans helped to cool the apartment down even more. Wonderful Host. Carla was very responsive with me before our arrival and answered any questions. She was at the apartment when we arrived to greet us and give us a tour, and was able to let us check in early since her previous guests left the day before. She even helped us carry one of our luggage’s up the one flight of stairs to get to the apartment. What I appreciated most is that she was so sweet to our children and showed them right to their room which they were excited to see!
