Alcaria Cova holiday lettings

We chose this villa for its location ( peace and quiet) away from the busy tourist areas. The villa itself was perfect for us, modern, comfortable with a great outdoor area and pool. Obviously to get good views you have to go high up and the road leading up to the villa is a little tricky but worth it. Our only complaint really was the structure of management and a few things that could make the stay more enjoyable. The booking was done through VBRO but the company that the owners use is Interchalet, they then use a local agent as the owners do not speak any English so we had difficulty communicating and had to contact the local agents if we needed anything. The check-in was tricky as the owners did not speak English and we did not speak Portuguese. We had to give them €200 cash and then pay €1.50 per day per person tax in cash ( it would have been much easier if the tax was just included in the price). It would have been helpful if spare rubbish bin bags and a couple of dishwashing tablets were left for guests but the local agent told us that this was not their policy to leave items like this for guests. We thought that for the money we paid leaving one bag in the kitchen bin with no spare and one dishwasher tablet for a 9 night stay was a bit mean. It would have also been helpful to have a book with helpful suggestions re: restaurants, places of interest in the area etc. We enjoyed our stay and would book again but hopefully the owners will value our constructive feedback.

Nestled up on the hills above Faro, Villa Mara is nice and secluded with a fantastic view of Faro, Olhao and the islands. It faces south but a roof terrace means you can catch evening sunsets. There was an impressive super moon whilst we were there. As it’s up on the hills, it does get some wind which is really refreshing. Villa is a good size with plenty of lounging space inside and out and a lovely, well kept garden. Pool was great and cleaned by the friendly Linda every Tues. Plenty of places to food shop nearby (Sao Bras de Alportel) - car is a must. Also plenty of towns to visit - Tavira was a favourite but also Loule (for the markets but also the impressive salt mines just out of town) and Carvoeira (for the beach, cliffs and caves). We were able to check in early, which was very kind. Would thoroughly recommend.

We spent wonderful summer holidays here. Thanks for renting this lovely and comfortable villa. We are sure that we will be back here soon. That’s definitely the best place for family holidays in portugal

Lovely spacious villa. Views are wonderful. Immaculately clean. Owners are just lovely. Pool and surrounds are superb. .

Had the most relaxing holiday. The property was everything we had hoped for and more. Spacious, clean, fully equipped and quiet location. Car is required as nothing is really in walking distance. Tom was very helpful throughout our booking. Would go again.

We were a group of 13 friends with young children and had an amazing stay at Villa Panoramica! Great communication with the rental company throughout and very reasonably priced. The pool was particularly nice and would definitely recommend getting it heated like we did. The villa is in quite a rustic area so very quiet and peaceful, but a bit of a journey to get to local shops etc. Only room for improvement would be things like the oven/dishwasher etc are getting on a bit and not overly effective. Otherwise a cracking villa and a great holiday had by all. :-)
