Plaka villas

We were a party of 4 and this wonderful villa was absolutely perfect for us. The communication with our host Carina was great from the point of booking and throughout. The villa was clean and even better than the accurate pictures show. It’s walking distance to the bars, restaurants and the beach (and watersports) in Almyrida which we did on several occasions (but only walked back up the hill at night when it was cooler)! It also served as a fantastic base to see the other local villages and places of interest such as Aptera and the cities of Chania and Rethymnon. We really enjoyed the beautiful outdoor space which provided knockout sunset views over the bay. The house is also very well equipped which provided that perfect home-from-home experience. It was also lovely to meet Carina who was a delight to speak to and charming to learn about her. I would not hesitate in recommending this lovely villa to holiday goers looking for a Cretan escape. This is a beautiful villa and we very much enjoyed our stay. The sea views from the terrace were spectacular and it made the short but steep walk from the beach/ town worth it. The villa was well equipped and generally had everything you could need. Antonis was very helpful and on hand to sort out any issues. The cleaning service was excellent. We would have welcomed a shaded outdoor sitting area as we were there in August and it was extremely hot on the upstairs areas. The main lounge area is beautiful but as it doesn’t have air conditioning it was sometimes uncomfortable in the evening. The air conditioning in the bedrooms was very effective. Communication between all parties was excellent although on arrival we had been sent an incorrect code for the key box. After a couple of calls this was quickly resolved. The pool was clean and well maintained with plenty of sun beds and shades. I would recommend this villa as it had many lovely features and it was only a short walk into Almyrida where there are many lovely palaces to eat. We had a lovely holiday.

We stayed at Villa Jeni for a week end June / early July. We arrived at the Villa by taxi, and once we had recovered from the incredible view (breath taking!), collected our keys (easy process) and were greeted with a lovely welcome pack. The villa is clean, comfortable and spacious with everything you need for a family holiday. The pool is beautiful, big enough to swim in whilst enjoying the view. The location is super, just a 10 min walk down to Alymyrida beach, where there are lots of lovely restaurants, bars and shops. Alternatively it is just 5 mins walk up the hill to Plaka where there are 2 good grocery stores and a few great restaurants. We didn't hire car, lots within walking distance and when we wanted to go further we used the local taxi company who were excellent. We also took the local bus to Chania for a day trip. Villa Jeni was perfect for a family holiday or for a small group of friends.

Three good rooms leading into pool and a choice of terraces depending on time of day. Great views and easy but steep walk into village for food and drinks. Five min drive to sea and loads to do.

We had a wonderful stay here. The location is perfect, in a nice neighbourhood, easy walk down to the beach and tavernas which are a plenty. The pool although small is actually perfect for cooling down, big enough for kids to play and really fun. The villa is clean, modern and well equipped. Some nice touches like a welcome selection of food and a bottle of wine. The owner was lovely to converse with on email and really helpful. The local host was also really lovely, spoke good English and was very helpful and welcoming. I would love to come back! We all loved our stay here!

A really impressive, well managed and maintained property. The views are breathtaking from wherever you sit. The pool was kept very clean and a small issue with electrics round the outside kitchen was fixed very efficiently. Only disappointment was maybe that there was only WiFi TV, satellite TV, even greek channels would have been good although we didn't have time to watch TV much. It felt like a home from home with plenty of utensils and glasses, the ice machine was a huge bonus. Wood fired pizza oven was a first for us and a huge success. Watch out for the mosquitos though, they were rampant. It is brilliantly positioned in Plaka, short walk down the "heart attack" hill to few tavernas, coming back up was not as much fun! Sunsets from the top terrace are outstanding. Plaka is a lovely village, 5mins drive to the lovely beach at Almyrida although we preferred the beach at Kalyves and the icy cold water of the river meeting the sea. Communication with the agent was spot on and overall cannot recommend this property more. Wish we could be back tomorrow.

Great house in the centre of Plaka with 5-6 restaurants with 2 min walk. 10 minute walk to beaches and loads of beach side bars and restaurants. Houses is lovely 3 out side eating areas. Roof top terrace with sea view. Would recommend free lance holidays as well.
