We purchased this house because we wanted to give our two children, ages 6 and 9 at the time of purchase, a 'mountain experience' and the opportunities to hike, enjoy nature, and explore all that the woods and the mountains have to offer. When we first looked at this home, we knew it had all the charm, comfort and access to the wonders of the mountains that we were looking for. Although we're less than a half hour to Brevard, we feel like we are truly far away from the demands and pressures of life.

What makes this House unique

The house is large enough to accommodate two families (or one large one). We limit rental parties to no more than eight. Since there is flexibility with beds and bedrooms, it's easy to accommodate individual needs and preferences. For example, adventurous "tweens" may want to sleep in the "Harry Potter bed under the stairs" in the basement; the Bunk Room holds 4; and the den, two in the trundle beds. So make yourselves at home and spread out! Something else that makes Round Mountain Lodge special is the "Hillbilly porch." This dining deck, with a table for 8 and bar seating for 4, is a favorite, particularly at night with the little lights shimmering on the 'mountain chandelier.' A small refrigerator and a gas grill means you can relax while enjoying the outdoors!
