WHAT SHALL WE DO TODAY?
Are you curious about the active-adult lifestyle of Green Valley, AZ? Want to give it a try?
Well, what if you had access to 13 recreation/fitness centers (3 within 2 miles of this home), with 36 pickleball courts, 17 tennis courts, 6 pools, spas, and fitness rooms? For a small extra fee, tenants are eligible to purchase a guest membership to GVR (Green Valley Recreation), a non-profit dedicated to providing recreational, social, and leisure education opportunities that enhance the quality of members' lives.
You could try woodworking, lapidary, quilting, ceramics, painting. Meet new friends for hiking, biking, birdwatching, ping pong, or play bridge, bunko, poker.
The San Ignacio Golf Course, pro shop, and driving range is just two blocks away. Golf fees are extra. The Coyote Grill at San Ignacio Golf Course features fine dining, special events, and fabulous mountain views.
But there are other great courses nearby, as well, including Canoa Ranch, and Torres Blancas, each with their own excellent restaurants, and The Haven Golf Course.
If you just want to walk, jog, or ride your bike, the streets surrounding this home feature separate, dedicated lanes for walkers/joggers, bicycles, and golf carts. A former golf course, 2 miles away, has been re-purposed as a public park, with walking trails, benches, and restroom facilities.
Do you like pink-and-purple mountain sunrises? Or orange-and-red sunsets? You got ‘em.
Are you a birdwatcher or animal lover? Watch the hummingbirds, cardinals, bluebirds, roadrunners and quail. Also included: jackrabbits, coyotes, lizards and the ever-popular javelinas. With desert and mountain views from living room, master bedroom, and secluded patios, the privacy and quiet will astonish you.
And National/Regional parks and wildlife refuges abound in southern Arizona.
Take in "Biosphere", or experience the Old West in Tombstone.
ENJOY THE SUNSHINE -- AVOID THE BLISTERING HEAT.
Green Valley, surrounded by mountains on all sides, averages 5 degrees cooler than Phoenix. It's "high desert", people -- and at 3000' elevation, Green Valley has been known to get its share of snow.
ARE YOU MORE OF AN “INDOOR SPORT”?
Like to find those “tag-sale treasures”? Bargain-hunters will enjoy the estate and garage sales that take place almost every week, many of them within walking distance.
And there is a vibrant, affordable live-music scene in and around Tucson and Green Valley that is geared to and accessible for active adults, with early start times and modest (if any) cover-charges. The Abrego Grill at Torres Blancas Golf has occasional live music. GVR hosts Friday night dances at the Canoa Hills Center, 2 miles away. And in Tucson, The Gaslight Theater and Gaslight Music Hall feature concerts, musical plays, and occasional dance parties.
The Community and Performing Arts Center is 4.5 miles away. The CPAC features an art gallery, art workshops, lectures, plays, and of course music, ranging from salsa to swing and everything in between.
Are you an art lover? Then you must visit the quaint artists’ colony of Tubac, just 15 miles south on I-19, with its colorful shops and restaurants, and home to Tubac Golf Resort and Spa, made famous by Kevin Costner in the movie “Tin Cup”.
