From the outside, this beautiful home looks a lot like its neighbors: rustic, but in a sophisticated, modern way. Inside though, local interior designer Jacque Jenkins-Stireman has created a one-of-a-kind space equally suited to hanging out and entertaining. She’s combined influences as diverse as Kit Kemp—the designer behind hot London properties like the Covent Garden and Charlotte Street Hotels and New York’s Crosby Street Hotel—and traditional Western heritage with contemporary fine art, chic custom furniture, and antique finds. “This isn’t just a cookie-cutter place to stay at night, but a property with a personality,” says Jenkins-Stireman. “It’s a home that will come to feature in the memories of your vacation here.”
Four Pines 14’s personality is apparent as soon as you walk in the front door. A hallway lined with art pulls you past a powder room and into a combined kitchen/dining/living room with a wall of west-facing windows, a wood-burning fireplace, artwork from local galleries, high-ceilinged barn wood ceilings, colorful accents, and a professional, open kitchen with a Wolf range and oven. French doors off the dining area open to an expansive patio. Whether grilling or soaking in the hot tub, from the patio you can watch the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort tram shuttling skiers and sightseers up and down Rendezvous Mountain. (JHMR’s base area is a short shuttle ride or walk away, although we don’t recommend the latter in ski boots!)
Also on the first floor are a media room and the master suite. Local architect Logan Leachman, of JLF & Associates, designed the home such that the latter is extremely private: It’s in its own wing. The master suite, which has a gas burning fireplace, is also bright with sunshine—even in its bathroom. Enjoy Jackson Hole’s 300+ days of annual sunshine from a seating area in the bedroom or while lounging in the deep soaking tub in the bathroom. The window adjacent to the bathtub has some of the best views of JHMR and the southern Tetons in the valley.
Four Pines 14’s four guest bedrooms, all of which have private bathrooms, are on the second floor. The north side of the home has two bedrooms—a junior master suite with a king bed and a guest room with two twin beds that can be converted into a single king-size bed. These can be accessed by a private entrance near the garage. (They can also be accessed from the main entrance.) Aside from having their own private entrance, a shared wet bar allows these bedrooms a degree of autonomy from the rest of the house.
Two more bedrooms are in the home’s south wing. Ascending the main stairs to the second floor, a spacious landing greets you. Shelves here are stocked with board games from Yahtzee to Monopoly and Scrabble. Or settle into one of the chairs tucked into the corner here with one of the many books happily scattered throughout the home. Four Pines 14’s library ranges from style and design titles from Assouline to classic mountain literature like Jon Krakauer’s Into Thin Air.
A bedroom suite immediately off the landing has two twin beds. Directly above the master suite is a guest bedroom with a king-size bed. A leather bench beneath a west-facing window is the perfect place to sit with a book in the evening.
Shooting Star is home to Jackson Hole’s most in-demand addresses. Four Pines homes are within walking distance of the shopping and dining in the base area of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, a few short miles from the entrance of Grand Teton National Park. A ski shuttle to the slopes is available during ski season. A maintained bike pathway connects Shooting Star to the towns of Wilson and Jackson.
