About Melanie O'Neill

We are Peter and Melanie and our UK base is South Wales. We fell in love with Greece, and more specifically with the beautiful island of Lefkada back in 2000 on a sailing holiday. We vowed to return and in 2007 we purchased the land that our villa now sits on. As we were involved with the build from the very beginning, we have been able to input a lot of our own ideas, and Katerina (named after eldest daughter), is definitely a labour of love. We have tried to make the villa feel like a home, where people can unwind and relax. We hope that you decide to choose Villa Katerina as your holiday destination, as we would like to introduce you to this extraordinary island with its history and culture, friendly Lefkadians and beautiful scenery. Why Melanie O'Neill chose Geni

We purchased the land due to its fantastic location and spectacular views. We wanted privacy, but didn't want to be too remote that we had to jump into the car too often. Geni is a small friendly community, a mix of Greeks and other nationalities. However, if you want to sample town life, Nidri is only a 10 minute car journey away. Here are a large selection of assorted shops, bars, taverna's, clubs most of which look across the harbour to the neighbouring islands. Nidri takes on a different feel once the sun goes down, and the holiday makers come out to play. A happy and vibrant feel, all generations enjoying the balmy summer nights.

SUN ALL DAY The local geography means that some locations in the shadow of the mountains 'lose' the sun in the afternoon. But not Geni! Villa Katerina is bathed in sun from early morning until late into the evening. Light cooling afternoon breezes are also a feature of the area. NO DRINK-DRIVE ISSUES : GREAT TAVERNAS WITHIN COMFORTABLE WALKING DISTANCE We are one of only a few select properties that can boast a good selection of 3 taverna's and1 restaurant within walking distance. There's no need to use the car in the evening. EASY ACCESS TO THE SEA If you fancy hiring a yacht, or you own one yourself there is nearby public access to Vlicho Bay where you can drop anchor and row ashore. It is then a short 5 minute walk back to the villa.
