Ask a questionAbout Dennis or Janet
Janet is a community organizer and works with an organization that serves elders in Boston. Dennis is an author of several books, and was a protestant minister in his earlier years. We have three grown children, and all have spent many happy and meaningful times in Northport, Maine over the past 32 years.
Dennis or Janet purchased this house in 1986
Why Dennis or Janet chose Northport
We bought this property because of the incredible beauty of the natural surroundings, and all of the wonderful recreational opportunities it allows. When we first purchased the property, it had an old house on it that had burned down many years ago upon it. Over the 32 years, we slowly cleared the land and, with some help with a friend who is a master carpenter, built the house and cottage. We really enjoy our time there, but we enjoy just as much when people share their stories and how much they appreciated their time at Knight's Pond!
What makes this house unique
There are few places anywhere that you can visit that provides so much outdoor recreational potential, natural beauty, privacy and comfortable and scenic lodging. Then there are the many small communities nearby which provide a plethora of cultural and recreational opportunities along the ocean and bays, including some of the finest restaurants in Maine within short driving distance. There is never a shortage of things to do or places to go.
