About this property
We are nearby great food & essentials. Quiet spot to rest and work!
Brand New to VRBO, introducing JackFoot Cottage-O, a spacious, newly renovated cottage in the Kingston suburbs. This is perfect for families or digital nomads. Located in the vibrant heart of Jamaica's capital, tucked away in the peaceful suburbs of Jacks Hill, everything you need is within walking distance. Find contentment here.
Your hosts embody the true spirit of VRBO, taking special care of our guests who desire it.
Need something smaller? Check our other listing JACKFOOT NOOK.
JackFoot Cottage-O, is a two bedroom, loft style unit. The loft has a sweet view of the Otaheiti Apple tree which has inspired the letter "O" in the name, JackFoot Cottage-O (The name is a double entendre - it pays homage to the tree and to our African ancestry)
Downstairs is your bedroom, closets, storage areas, kitchen, living & dining and bathroom. There is a main front door and a rear entrance into the bedroom. Upstairs is your loft style bedroom with pine wood floors, a beautiful view of the sunset and your work area.
The bedroom downstairs has a queen bed and A/C as well as a ceiling fan plus a hanging closet for clothes and an antique wooden dresser for packing out your clothes, plus some additional shelves for storing whatever belongings you have, like suitcases or camera gear, or kids supplies.
Your living area has a couch and coffee table and a 4k smart TV is mounted on the wall. Your WiFi is in unit, and it is super fast and powerful. The TV is controlled by an app which you download from the Play store or Apple Store, and you can cast to the TV directly from your phone. In addition, there are Smart Apps for you to stream.
In the living area is your dining table which has a bench style seat with a handmade teak table. It is not varnished because varnish is toxic and is known to cause cancer...so treat it with care.
The kitchen has many amenities available with a full stove and oven and a beautiful red fridge.
Finally, for downstairs is your bathroom where we keep it simple with a standing glass shower that you step down into.
The main bedroom downstairs has the A/C while the bedroom loft upstairs has a ceiling fan and standing fan and several windows for better airflow. The loft is a great space to chill out and play games with the family or sit by the desk and stare out the window at the Otaheiti Apple tree which is absolutely beautiful, especially when in bloom. You can also try to work at the desk, but the Otaheiti tree is quite captivating.
There is a day bed in the loft whereby you can look outside at the sunset and sit chill and comfy while sipping tea or coffee. It is very inspirational.
The cottage is comfy and quiet during the days and you have great hosts who are responsive and considerate.
Guest access
While it is that you are on a shared property with the hosts, the Cottage is a self contained unit. You enter through the gate and have your own parking spot and walk through to the back of the property. There are mango trees and ackee trees which you can pick from (for personal eating)
Other things to note
This is a newly renovated space, and has a few rough edges but nothing to hinder your day to day, more like minor scuffs to the area. However, in the true spirit of Kaizen, we continually improve our listing with each guest and strive to maintain Superhost status.
Jamaica has the highest electrical rate in the western hemisphere, so we have opted to place the Air Conditioning unit in the bedroom instead of central air. This is so we can keep the nightly cost as low as possible to make the space accessible to as many as possible. This means when you are in the loft or living room, standing fans and ceiling fans keep you cool. Bear this in mind if you are a person who needs A/C and doesn't like to keep windows opened.

It is an amazing space to work in and so full of life and vibrancy. The internet is fast and there is so much working space. You'll love sitting at the desk and working under the apple tree. Sunsets are glorious from the upstairs day bed. This is truly a great space
