Dishonest owner and poor communication
Hi,
I booked this house in September for a December stay. I had to call the owner on the day of my stay because I had not heard from him. I had to tell him I was staying at his place and that he had not communicated with me on how to get into his house. He had to take my information and send me instructions on how to get in.
This house list that it has a hot tub. Believe me when I say that the little tub next to the pool is not a hot tub. Three people can put there feet in it as it is about 18 inches deep and the water is the same temperature as the pool. I paid 150 dollars for the pool to be heated for 5 days. The owner did advise me that it might not be worth it as it will take 2 to 3 days to warm up. We proceeded with having the pool heated. The pool never heated up and no warm water could be felt coming from the pool jets. The pool jets only ran 9 hours a day and turned off at night which caused the water to get even colder. We did not get to swim at all and the workers that came to house also notified us the pool heater was not working correctly as did a neighbor who said the family before us had the same problem. I asked the owner for a refund of the 150 dollars and he has denied the request. The owner did not communicate with me during the whole stay unless I asked him a question. The location of the house is nice and its definitely nicer than staying at a hotel. The twin beds in both bedrooms are very fragile and the mattresses are not comfortable. I would strongly recommend not renting this house until the owner learns some better customer service skills and the owner changes his amenities to be honest about not having a hot tub. I will be appealing the decision to not get a refund for the pool heat with Homeaway. I have had 5 Homeaway experiences that were all positive until this one. I should have know better when there were no reviews for this home when booking. I hope this review will make you think twice before deciding to rent this home.
