About Carolyn Emmett
About The Emmetts If you look up the word ‘emmet’ in a (big) English dictionary, you’ll see its definition as: 1. Brit – an archaic or dialect word for ant; 2. Cornish dialect – a tourist or holiday-maker... Las Hormigas is the name we chose for our house in Spain – after all, we are ‘The Emmetts’ (Kevin and Carolyn), and we hope you will decide to be a holiday-maker in our lovely village home. We have lived in many countries (the UK, Canada, Indonesia, Botswana and South Africa). We’re seasoned travellers, so know what we want when we take a holiday from the pressures of our jobs: to ‘get away from it all’. We also want comfort, modern conveniences, and lots of bars and restaurants offering inexpensive local food and drink. This is what you’ll find in Las Hormigas and in Montejaque.
Carolyn Emmett purchased this House in 2003
Why Carolyn Emmett chose Montejaque
Because we have lived permanently in the village for more than eight years, we know a lot about the area, and will happily show you some of our favourite walks. The house is a perfect location for exploring, and the best comment we have heard from our many happy guests is that "it looks exactly like the photographs."
What makes this House unique
Unique Benefits of Las Hormigas A benefit or a drawback? It’s a tough climb up to the house from the nearest place that you can park your car ... but there are two benefits: (1) you’ll be really fit after a few days; (2) the views from our roof terrace are phenomenal. And, because we now live permanently in the village, we can meet you on your arrival and help you carry your luggage to the house.
