Ask a questionAbout Jon Bray & Karen Hearn
A pair of food loving, dog loving, outdoor living, Pembrokeshire lovers. We moved here from London in 2002 and have never regretted it for a moment. Living in Pembrokeshire means for us walks on the beach, exploring the countryside, living more sustainably, harvesting our own fruit and veg, looking after our animals (currently 6 chickens, 2 geese and a chocolate lab) and generally enjoying a slower pace of life. We have planted up 6 acres of native broadleaf woodland and find it extremely satisfying when birds migrating all the way from Africa see fit to nest in our little patch.
Jon Bray & Karen Hearn purchased this Barn in 2002
Why Jon Bray & Karen Hearn chose Hayscastle Cross
We fell in love the moment we drove in through the gate. Far enough off the beaten track, yet with good neighbours and located centrally in Pembrokeshire so that everything the county offers – beaches, cliffs, woods, hills, rivers and valleys – is within easy reach. We’ve spent over ten years slowly renovating our house, the Grange – Ty Lloi (The Calf House) was completed far quicker although still in a manner true to our ideals, using local craftsmen and an architect who shared our vision of preserving the original nature of the building, whilst maximising passive solar gain, introducing high levels of insulation and utilising natural materials.
