Why Rosemary Butler chose Bishop Auckland
This family house is well situated to explore the wonders of the area and region. Bishop Auckland is going through exciting times as Auckland Castle is developed into a major visitor attraction. "Kynren" is one of the Rough Guides Top 10 new world attractions for 2016. A new Spanish and Latin American Art Gallery (with the Prado) and Coal miners Gallery are also being created and lots of local arts and crafts emerging. Binchester Roman Fort gives fascinating insights into the Roman world. This adds to an already beautiful area of outstanding natural beauty in Weardale and Teesdale alongside the ever improving Durham coastline. Durham City is a world heritage site full of places to explore and discover plus it's beautiful Botanic Gardens We are the home of railway heritage with the Stockton-Darlington line the world's first railway. Escomb is the most complete Saxon church in England. Towns like Darlington, Stockton and Hartlepool offer surprising delights. Newcastle, Gateshead and Sunderland all offer many attractions.
What makes this House unique
"Kynren" is just 10 minutes walk away so we are the nearest holiday house to let to it. This is a town house from which you can walk to a range of restaurants and pubs as well as Auckland Castle and Park and surrounding countryside. You can reach us easily from Bishop Auckland Station and Bus Station so if you do not have a car we are a base from which you can explore. We aim to offer excellent value for money. As we live nearby we are able to keep our own eyes on the property and welcome our guests. Having used self catering ourselves over the years we have aimed to equip the house as we like to find others.
