Private Tiny House located right at the heart of the Downtown Historic District. Walk to numerous restaurants, bars, the Tryon Palace and the waterfront. Private separate entrance from the rear yard and can be accessed anytime with a key code. Living space, kitchenette (no cooking) and bathroom on first floor with queen bed upstairs in open loft setting. The loft bed must be entered from the foot of the bed. Parking available on site. Small sofa opens up for twin bed for additional sleeping area. The space is most comfortable for 1 or 2 people. Well behaved pets okay. Beach cruiser bikes available.

All surfaces are wiped clean with bleach spray and anti viral cleaning products.

Perfect

So much better than any hotel. Price was Great. Place was clean. Had everything we needed, plus extras. Beautiful private and quiet fenced in back yard with deck with table and chairs. Center within walking distance of downtown, shops, restaurants and water. Will definitely be back.

Cute guest house walking distance to everything!

We loved the little guest house with a cute garden and a few kitties wandering. We used the cruiser bikes available for guests and rode around town and along the water. All of downtown is walkable from the house. Great stay.

About the host

I'm an architect with my own firm GO Architectural Design, PLLC in this lovely town. The main house was built in 1865 and where the tiny house stands there used to be an out building. When it rains bits and pieces of coal and pottery work their way up to the surface of the yard and I'm always finding little bits and pieces of history strewn around the yard.

There are 3 lovely semi outdoor cats on the property. Spike who is my "orca" black and white kitty, and Lorenzo de Medici our new kitty, a.k.a. "killer" who regularly brings "gifts" of the non-living sort and is really a ham and loves attention. And Bat who is a small runty all black very cute girl who loves a head scratch.

Why they chose this property

The Hanff House sat empty with the front porch falling off for about 2 years before we bought it. We restored the house and wanted an extra space for quests so we built the cottage.

What makes this property unique

The sleeping space is in the loft area with the living area down below. Right in the heart of downtown New Bern it's easy to walk everywhere downtown.
