Notes
- This house is in a quiet rural location, yet with a cafe wihin 500 yards. There are a lot of interesting walks a short drive away, wonderful waterfalls at Inversnaid, and the visitor centre just outside Aberfoyle is good. A lot of walks start there, including the "waterfalls walk" for children, which is lovely as there are a lot of interesing things in a short walk. The walk around Loch Ard is also lovely. Aberfoyle is the nearest shopping area. Several supermarkets can deliver food to the house. There are lovely shops at Callander, with a great bakery. We accept well behaved dogs, but do not allow dogs on the furniture or on the beds.

Ask a questionAbout Gail and Tom Holliman
We have spent many happy holidays in lots of different locations all over Scotland, and prefer Scotland to anywhere else we have been. Even when we feel we know an area really well, there is always more to discover. Our dogs, Lucy and Pickle, also love Scotland, though they are not so keen on the rainy days!
Gail and Tom Holliman purchased this Cottage in 2018
Why Gail and Tom Holliman chose Stronachlachar
We fell in love with this beautiful house after looking for just the right house for over two and a half years. We were looking for a waterside house, which had access to the water, which was beautiful and remote, but not isolated, but also modern and fully renovated inside with gas central heating and double glazing, which can be quite difficult to find! When we saw this one, and viewed inside it was just perfect. The downstairs area is huge, with plenty of room for 8 people and dogs if they have them. We are looking forward to adding a few more finishing touches over the coming months, and have enjoyed welcoming guests since we purchased the house in April 2018.
What makes this Cottage unique
We fell in love with the feel of the house, it feels so special and different. It is such a beautiful peaceful location, and to be able to see across the water on a cold day from inside the house, being nice and warm with a cup of tea or a hot chocolate, is a real treat. On a sunny day it is just beautiful, and even when it is raining, the rainbows are amazing. As there is no light pollution at night, I remember seeing all the stars on our first visit there, I had never seen so many! We love staying, which is always a good sign when hosts actually enjoy staying in their guest houses!
