About Timo Gleed
I am Timo. The Karelia & Viipuri Holiday Cottages were started by my grandparents Helena and Richard in the 1980s. Helena was a Finnish national when she came to England as an au pair. She grew up in Finland where many families have summer homes set in natural surroundings often beside a lake. Because of this influence, the idea of bringing these traditional log houses and a piece of Finland to Ringwood was born. I run the day to day business, maintaining the original friendly holiday atmosphere on which it was founded. With these cottages I have endeavoured to duplicate the relaxed style that many Finns enjoy in their summer cabins all over Finland. I hope that Ihave succeeded.

Why Timo Gleed chose St Leonards
Karelia and Viipuri Cottages are located in a quiet and tranquil forest location, but only 20 minutes drive from the famous Blue Flag beaches of Bournemouth & Studland. The land offers direct access on to Ringwood forest: that means cycling, hiking and wildlife watching are literally on the doorstep. Many species of birds make their home with us and often deer, rabbits and squirrels are sighted. Ringwood is five minutes drive away and holds a market every Wednesday. It also has two supermarkets and a range of small shops to interest everybody.
What makes this House unique
Large beautiful and private garden. Great for kids to run around in. A Finnish log cabin experience! Plus we back on to Ringwood Forest and have miles and miles of forest land on our doorstep.
