Longview @ Berowra Waters

Located on a bend in the river that affords a 180 degree vista of the surrounding pristine forests, Longview @ Berowra Waters is a magical destination for creating special memories. The residence is perched right at the water’s edge providing the sensation of truly being on the water for the duration of your stay. Surrounded by nature the prevailing sounds are of the water lapping at your pontoon, native birds and the gentle to and fro of life on the river. Included in your stay is a motorised tinny and double kayak perfect for exploring the river.

Made up of two individual buildings, of which are available to the guests who rent our property so you have plenty of room to come together or to spread out.

The Main Homestead comprises 2 Bedrooms, a Master with Queen Bed and a large separate en-suite complete with Spa Bath, while the second bedroom contains new King Single bunk beds perfect for the kids but very comfortable for adult guests.

The Boathouse so named as it is built above the waterline and is a little oasis for two, simple but perfectly formed contains a double bed with toilet and vanity.

Activities
Explore the river using the tinny provided or for that bit of luxury hire a BBQ Boat from the Marina, enjoy the walking tracks of Berowra Valley National Park and experience fine dining at Berowra Waters Inn, where you will be picked up and dropped off at your own pontoon upon request. If you're feeling energetic the double Kayak is a great way to explore the narrow channels of the river, including the tidal channels that cannot be accessed by motor boat.

Paddle around the corner to Calabash Bay and at low tide and you will find 'The Sandbar' a small beach perfect for swimming and known only to the locals. Explore a little further and you will discover beautiful wildlife up close that you will never see if you approach by land.

Alternatively dive right off your own pontoon into the deep water of Berowra Creek or watch the kid’s splash about from the balcony above while you enjoy the amazing views.

Dinning & Entertainment
One of Sydney’s most exceptional restaurants, the fabulous Berowra Waters Inn is located just two minutes away. Our friends there, Brian and Victoria, will arrange for a free pick up and drop off right to your pontoon which makes the whole experience of fine dining that little bit more special.

A Chef Secrets, another special dining experience offers fine Italian fare under the stars. Fully licenced this restaurant is a shot boat ride from the property and is open for breakfast and lunch during the week and they have added dinners on weekends.

We also offer Foxtel (most channels including sports package) and NetFlix, Free WiFi, PS3 & a selection of games, Board Games, toys, Stereo, and a selection of books for Adults and Children are all available during your stay.

The property has one of the best positions on the river, with panoramic views. Our dogs (and us) enjoyed sitting in the breeze overlooking the boats passing on the river. The standout for us, was that the owners included their tinny "Chop Chop" to enable us to get about on the river - go go fishing and to explore. It was a most relaxing holiday.

This is a great location, fishing from the dock or out on the Tinny. The morning views are stunning. Easy and friendly communication which made getting to and from the property very easy.

Escape to Longview

4 friends staying at Longview for 5 nights over the New Year period.I highly recommend Longview....wonderful location, so pretty and peaceful but there is plenty to do. We loved the kayaks and the tinny that are included with the property. The sea plane bringing people in to lunch at Berowra Waters Inn was quiet specatcular, BW Marina close bye has wine/beer etc if you need to restock, very handy, short trip in the tinny.El and Cameron are lovely and easy to communicate with. Col, who met us at the marina to take us to the house by boat was a delight, very helpful and informative.You'll have a fantastic time...just book it!

Fabulous Relaxing Weekend Away

We had an incredible time with our four teenagers, exploring with three kayaks and a small tinny. Night fishing was so relaxing (and challenging with those those elusive mullet!). A highlight for us was diving off the pontoon, enjoying the sight of sea planes, and having a blast in the boat. The kids loved it and could entertain themselves all weekend and hardly touched their screens - RESULT. Simply taking in the breathtaking scenery was a delight. This place is a hidden treasure we strongly recommend. The property is a beach style river house, clean and comfortable and with everything you need. It made it for a perfect family holiday spot with 4 teenage boys. Eleanor and Cameron, the owners, were exceptionally welcoming and accommodating, while Colin, a local, ensured our journeys to and from the property by boat were seamless. It was a fun adventure to take the boat to the Marina and then a lovely scenic drive to the local shops in Berowra, but if you don't fancy that, you can bring all your food and drink and just stay at the property and enjoy the views and water activities. We will be back for sure. Thanks so much. Bridget

Bliss!!

We had a ball! Three kayaks and a little tinny to explore. Our highlight was seeing the sea planes land and take off. It was great just to look at the magnificent view! We highly recommend this little gem of a place.

Fantastic place, very relaxing and fun

Had a great time a little isolated from the world. Fishing, swimming, boating and kayaking. Only an hours drive to feel a million miles away.

Serious cleanliness issues

We were looking forward our stay at this property over new year with our friends however after 1 night of our 3 night booking we had to cut our trip short, quite honestly the cleanliness levels fell far below par as well as other issues with the property showing signs of disrepair. I want to be completely honest, as this experience was a bad one for us and perhaps the owners can give their responses to our issues below to provide others with comfort that this won't happen again. To list out some of the issues below: - Fridge very dirty inside and out - Stains on beddings - blanket and pillows and cushions in both bedrooms -Stains and dirt on cushions on couch in living room - Kitchenware dirty - plates and glassware - Bathroom blinds covered in mold - General uncleanliness around the property e.g. skirting boards dirty, inside of drawers in kitchen - Bedroom door broke and fell off its rail - Washing machine violently shakes - The taps in the kitchen were coming out of the wall - Fridge took over 12 hours to become adequately cool after putting our things in there. On flagging these issues to the property manager, they came round to the property and agreed with the above points. On agreeing that we would end the booking there, the owners only refunded us 2 of the 3 nights despite the clear negligence in providing a clean and hygienic property for us to stay in especially during a global pandemic. This being on top of the inconvenience of us having to find alternative accommodation on one of the busiest holidays of the year.

Great location but property needs work

The location on the bend in the river with 180 degree water views is fabulous. The property is in need of TLC which would have been compensated by the location if the property had been cleaned properly before we arrived. Disappointed.

A perfect winter weekend away

Driving down to Berowra Waters we felt like we'd entered another world, less than an hours drive from Sydney and a million miles away from the hustle and bustle. Eleanor met us there and ferried us over to The Boathouse then showed us around the 3 properties and "settled us in". It was a chilly but sunny winters day but the reverse cycle a/c soon warmed us up and we headed off later to explore Berowra Creek and join the friendly folk on the water. Decided on dinner "at home" and World Cup football on the big tv with a wood fire roaring away, the sounds of the water lapping at the pontoon and a few glasses of champagne - bliss. The queen size bed was cosy and comfortable and we slept like babies. All in all a very restful weekend away, just the 2 of us this time but next time we'll have a summer stay with friends as there is plenty of room for 6 people and its just too nice not to share! BEAUTIFUL, LOVED IT, WILL BE BACK

Such a wonderful experience for the whole family, the hosts were super friendly and helpful with all our questions before our arrival. We were welcomed and picked up by Cameron at the pontoon, on our way to the house, we drove our own private dingy provided by the couple, Cameron gave us a little tour and history of the place, welcomed by Eleanor at the house. She showed us around the house, explained a few things and then left us. The views were stunning. we felt a thousand miles away from home but it was only 1.30h drive from our house Bonnyrigg NSW. The breakfast (freshly baked Croissants and Donuts) lunch and dinner at the "A Chefs Secret" was OMG good and price was not that bad either and service was exceptional. We explored the surroundings, went as far as Coba Point....everywhere we explored was absolutely stunning...Husband loved fishing, there were plenty of fishes.... we caught heaps, cooked some and brought a lot home too. The house was a good size for us 5......very clean, kitchen was full of things that we would use, utensils, cooking stuffs etc... Bathroom was well provided for too.. hot water was very hot, ..To sum it up, we loved loved, plan to come back in June the next long weekend holiday.....even of thinking of buying a house here just to relax and fish HAHA

Hawkesbury River Dreaming

The Boathouse provided the perfect setting for our nature escape. Your kayak was all we needed to explore the river and creeks. The Hawkesbury River is: super moon, lulling-lap-lap of water, screaming cicadas, soothing crickets, Sydney sandstone, naughty possum, electric thunderstorm, rough barked apple blossoms, Xanthorrehoea spikes in flower, Australian bush bees, jumping mullet, strange crustaceans, morning sunlight dancing on the ceiling and spilling across the river slate floors. Where memories are made

I took my partner here for a surprised getaway weekend and finished it off with proposing whilst enjoying the beautiful scenery. She said YES and we'll forever remember this boathouse as the beginning of a new chapter in our lives. Dinner at Berowra Waters Inn was a unforgettable experience, from service to food. The next day we took the boat and had a picnic on the water. We'll return again to this boathouse.

Magical weekend

Our family of 6 stayed at The Boathouse and very much enjoyed our stay. All of us were captivated by the beauty of the river and loved watching the passing boats, seaplanes and kayaks, as well as the birds. We used the boat to explore the river and it's beautiful bays and to go to the cafe at Berowra Waters. The house was comfortable, clean, cosy and had everything we needed for our stay. Would have loved to have stayed longer.........

An Idyllic Retreat on the Berowra Waters

My partner and I decided to stay at the Berowra Waters Boathouse and found that it had everything we needed and more. Situated on the water's edge with breath- taking views, the property is ideal for both a peaceful couple's getaway or family holiday. Very clean and well-equipped with amenities - we thoroughly enjoyed the spacious living room, kitchen and dining area. The comfortable bed also made for excellent nights sleep. We really appreciated the ample firewood as the temperature does get chilly during the winter. Location is fantastic - we spent one day cruising Berowra creek, visited Berowra Waters Inn for dinner and enjoyed a hike along the fire trail on top of the mountain. Cam and Elle are extremely friendly hosts and are available for queries during the stay. I highly recommend this gem in the heart of Berowra Waters and will be planning a trip back soon.

Great location but...

This is definitely a gorgeous location. However, the property, during the time of our stay, was in need of general maintenance (eg the grout in the kitchen and bathroom need attention and the stairs up to the property were slippery). In addition, there are no clear property orientation notes, so unless you want to be in constant contact with the neighbour who does the check-in (something that had no appeal for us), prior to booking, check with the owners to ensure you know where to find things like kindling and to ensure there is room in the fridge and freezer to store your own provisions, and be sure to ask if the BBQ is clean and supplied with gas. Some niceties such as bedside tables and room in the cupboards to unpack, bathroom hand towels and mats would be appreciated. All of these comments have been brought to the attention of the owner so hopefully they have been addressed.

Brilliant Weekend getaway

I rented this house on Berowra Creek for a weekend in July for myself and 5 friends. It's location is absolutely fantastic and the house is fabulous. The charms of this property lie in the mix of the rustic setting and modern conveniences, some of which, such as wifi television are nearly superfluous as there is so much to do and enjoy that these are not needed. Being met at the public wharf and ferried across Berowra Waters by a very friendly and knowledgeable gentleman was a treat and added to the sense of adventure and setting of this holiday retreat. The owners, Eleanor and Cameron are very friendly and helpful and arranging the rental and boat hire was very smooth and easy. I hope I have time again later in this year as I would certainly visit again.
