Villa-2 minutes from a quiet sandy beach perfect for families and adults alike

We purchased this a few years ago from within the family and come here most years for a couple of weeks with the children. Every year we try to upgrade the property and in the last few years have bought new living room furniture, new outside furniture, ceiling fans in the bedrooms and pictures. More recently we replaced and upgraded the 40 year old kitchen and bought new dining table and chairs, a new double bed and new mattresses in the main bedrooms. We have also bought a new HD TV and DVD player.

This house is a family property which we and other family members use every year and where we have recently started renting out some spare weeks rather than a rental investment. It has a well equipped kitchen, board and card games, books and puzzles, two bicycles and beach toys which our guests are welcome to use. We ask that our guests look after our possessions

What makes this Villa unique

For us, it is a lovely location. It is just over an hour from Barcelona airport (120km) and an easy drive on the motorway . Once there we are close enough to the beach (one road back) to be convenient without the noise or loss of privacy. The beaches are great for the families with a couple of great beach bars. Our favourite is Xiri Felic (on Facebook) which has a band 2 nights a week in the summer and which has great food (Try the Squid!). The beach itself is called Playa Pixerota and is split in two. Both parts are sandy and the right hand beach is better for smaller children as there is shallow water. The beaches attract locals but never really appear overcrowded. The house is well equipped with kitchen equipment, beach stuff and games which means we don't need to take much. The bedrooms have ceiling fans to keep cool at night and the living areas are comfortable. The local area is great for shops (fresh fruit and veg stall about 5 minutes away on the road to Miami Playa) and other supermarkets within 10-15 minutes (there is a new Lidl and Mercadona 2 junctions down the A7 at Hospitalet and a big Esclat at Cambrils on the N340. For quick trips the Michaelangelo supermarket in Miami is great).For fresh bread in the morning there is a small shop nearby or you can get bread at the campsite or Petrol station. I enjoy cycling or jogging and go next to the railway towards Cambrils and then on to Cambrils sea front which is well maintained with cycle paths and pavements (its extremely popular with cyclists, joggers and skaters first thing). Cambrils is fishing port which is packed with restaurants and ice cream parlours (Try Sirvant for ice creams). It is also popular for boat trips. For those that want to do water sports you can hire winsurfers and catamaran's along the beach at the El Prats campsite or at Club Nautico in Cambrils. There are also Jet ski's in Cambrils and Miami. The kids enjoy trips to Port Aventura which is 20 minutes away by car.
