Quaint Asheville getaway
This property brings the nature of Asheville to your stay. The patio is on the basement level at the back of the house. The view is wonderful. Even though this house is only a few blocks away from a main street, the road it is on winds up and away from the main roadway to leave you with a view of many, many trees. There is also a man made pond at the patio with fish. The percolating water for the pond is very soothing. Both the metal bouncy chairs and hanging hammocks make for a comfortable time on the patio. The size of the indoor space is great. The bedroom is a good size and the bathroom as well. It does not contain a traditional full kitchen. There is some rule in Asheville that rental properties of this type must have the owner living on the premises and the rented unit cannot have a full kitchen. This property contains a half size refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, dishes and such as well as a prep table. The bathroom is the only water source. It didn't pose a problem for us since we had no plans to cook in the first place. We just needed the fridge for beverages. The street is really cute. It winds up a hill. It is narrow but has room for parking your vehicle across from the house. There is quiet time required from both the owner and the renter from 11pm until 7 am. You can at times hear walking around happening on the floor above you. The binder about the property notes there is a train nearby that sounds its horn and night as will as a church with chimes that go off every hour. We didn't hear the church chimes and the train horn wasn't that bad during the night. However, we live near a train at home, so maybe we are just used to it. The location is perfect. Roughly a 10 or so minute drive to the Biltmore Estate. Downtown is maybe a 10 minute drive. The River Arts District as well as Haywood Avenue in West Asheville are very close as well.
The apartment is perfect for two people. I appreciated the breakfast bars that were supplied as we were traveling without food and having something with my coffee in the morning was perfect. The location is great, very close to the Biltmore estate and village. There is no kitchen sink so it would be a good idea to bring bottled water with you.
Tucked away gem near Biltmore Village
This apartment is PERFECT for an Asheville getaway. It is VERY close to Biltmore Village, but tucked away so you don't hear ANY road noise. The view from the porch is beautiful, the accommodations are very clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. I did NOT miss not having a full kitchen. The large dorm-sized fridge, microwave and toaster oven were perfect. Pat and her hubby, Bill are also very responsive and kind to work with as hosts.
Spacious apartment on the "South Slope"
We were pleasantly surprised with this apartment! It is very roomy inside and has a little "private" patio overlooking the river and lush greenery. It was nice to go hiking during the day and come back to a relaxing space. We enjoyed speaking with Pat and her family - and they were very helpful. We were lucky that there was a neighborhood artist's walk during our stay so we were able to visit some of the other houses and artist studios. Very close to Biltmore Village and Biltmore Estate entrance. Walking distance to downtown if you're ambitious (about 1.7 miles).
Enjoyed the Stay
We had a nice stay. The spot was clean and the views were nice. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The location was convenient. The only complaint I would have was you can hear footsteps above us very loudly, early in the morning. That part was completely my fault as the owner mentioned in the description that they are up early everyday.
