We had a great time at the estate. A little hard to find originally, but Noelita was easy to reach with any queries. The pictures should be updated though to reflect the new construction happening further down on the property... Not as private as we were expecting. But the private beach is so serene and great for a morning dip or a sunset swim!
a special place
very nice place, beautiful small isolated beach [tho too rough to swim- good wave jumping], good communication, great local dish dinner provided 1st nite.
Only comment is that having your own car is necessary- tho they were very helpful in setting us up with one thru Charles who gave us unrivalled personal service at a great price.
If we are ever back in St. Lucia would definitely stay here again.
Nice house and nice people. This is further from any sightseeing than expected. The posted picture doesn’t show that there are houses being built between the rental and the ocean. The coffee pot and microwave don’t have the correct plug in for the wall. For a first time visitor it should be explained ahead of time what to expect for transportation needs in order to safely get to sightseeing opportunities. Had a great trip but took a day or two to figure things out.
We had a great stay here. Nice, quiet location, enjoy having the semi private beach access. Comfortable and clean, everything we needed.
Thanks a lot Troy
We hope to see you one more time in Balembouche !
Piece and quiet
We had such a wonderful time at the house and really enjoyed the piece and quiet of the surroundings. The view of the ocean and the piton is breathtaking and the hole property is very nice.
On the day of our arrival we were a little concerned about the construction work on the property but that was no issue at all. The workers were very nice and polite and we did not hear any noise. And the two new houses are going to be amazing, you can already see that.
Noelita is a real gem, waited for us on the day of our arrival, showed us around, always there for us to answer all of our questions and prepared the most delicious meal for us. Our heartfelt thank you for that!
The closeby beach is really nice and we always had it to ourselves. If you want to explore the island, which we did, I strongly recommend a rental car. There are so many things to see in a short driving distance, you should not miss the beauty of the many deserted beaches, the rainforest, the waterfalls, the pitons, the nice local restaurants, etc.
If you are looking for a place away from the tourist crowds and like to dive into an authentic carribean experience, you should definetely stay at Domaine of Balembouche!
Thank you for having us!
Thanks a lot Regina !
St Lucia is a wonderful island with nice people . We are so happy you enjoy your stay
Maybe you and your husband will come soon !
This listing is not large enough for six persons, we booked the house for 28 days back in February. The owner then was pleasant and contacted us via text for small talk. My husband arrived a day before I did and the night I arrived, as soon as I stepped into the house I asked where was the furniture. The house didnt have seating for guests. There was a dining table and chairs and a very small unstable opened mattress "sofa". Not big enough for two people as listed. It would tip over when you would sit or lie on the edge. I immediately called the house manager and stated my concerns and she said that she was only the cleaner and agreed that the house was not big enough for six. She said she would contact the owner to see what could be done. The next morning I contacted the owner via WhatsApp and informed her of my concerns, that a guest had fallen off the "sofa' because the base was unstable. I politely requested a call with her to discuss a way of addressing my concerns. She stated that she had rented the property since 2014 without any issues. I politely reached out to her a few more times, she read the messages and ignored me. I contacted Homeaway and sent them photos of my issues. They tried to contact the owner, she again was not responsive. After nearly a week she did respond to them saying that the sofa was in working order, as they departed the property, a day before we arrived. Homeaway were no help as they said they could not force the Owner to respond to me. Therefore, I could purchase a bed with the compensation they would offer !! I felt cheated as I had paid in full back in February and the owner already had my money. The property was comfortable, however it was not what was listed. Hence the fact there are no photos of the living area or 'sofa bed' for two. There were no pillow or mattress covers on the beds. One mosquisto net did not fit the bed, so was left open. There was not a radio or books for guests to make up for not having a TV. We made sure to vacuum every morning due to insects and a few roaches. (raining season). No lighting on the porch. A chair leg was wobbly and eventually broke. The electricity kept on tripping as the owner is building 2 more houses on the estate and using the houses' electricity. That was the only time the owner got the cleaner to contact my husband to ask him to flick the switch as her workers were unable to work.
It will be interesting to see if the owner finally responds to me on this review?
Indeed, since 2014, no guest has complained about the furniture and for good reason, there are 12 chairs in the cottage and this summer, I slept myself 15 days on the sofa bed and no problem, in comfort integral (I'm going to be 70 years old). We have 4,5 stars since this date.
What Rina does not say in her assessment is that she is known in the south of the island as a person who always poses a problem to her tenants. In this stay, she, or her family, broke a chair, burned the fan of the veranda, broke many glasses. The house was in a disastrous state and water and electricity bills tripled. In addition, the day of departure, she refused to leave at the contractual time and therefore the person who followed had to spend a night of hotel in the expectation that the cottage is ready. I strongly advise anyone to accept Rina as guest, it is the same prototype of person to avoid scrupulously.
