Cañón Cottage - jamaicanos / Holiday Beach Villa, espectaculares vistas al mar Alquileres

My wife and I, along with our two daughters (22 and 24) and their husbands fit perfectly into this beautiful spotless 3-bedroom villa (3 en-suite bathrooms).The owner, Karen, is organized/friendly, and personally greeted us and gave us a Grand Tour upon our arrival from California. There were many highlights of our visit, but first and foremost was the proximity (60-second walk) to the gorgeous white-sand beach where we swam every day, played beach volleyball, jogged, walked, or just relaxed.Right on one end of the beach there is a small bar/snack place to socialize a little with a Red Stripe beer or to listen to some twilight reggae music.

During the days, the ocean breeze kept the entire cottage at a reasonable temp, but at night all of us still took advantage of the powerful A/C units in each bedroom. Talk about being spoiled, we had two helpers, Erica and Cheryl, who took care of all our every cooking and housekeeping need and also shopped for (or had delivered) whatever food items we wanted! They were extremely capable and hospitable, and worked from about 8:30 am to 5 pm daily. We ate like royalty as they prepared many great dishes such as the special Jamaican saltfish and ackee, fish and bammy, festival, calalou, breadfruit, fruits, basic bacon and eggs, Jamaican rice and peas made with coconut milk, curried chicken, and some amazing hand made desserts (talk to Cheryl about these!).Of course, we also drank endless Jamaican coffee with condensed milk. We ate almost all of our meals on the deck/veranda which made a great spot for hanging out and for our card games too. Just as a change of pace, we twice drove off the property a few miles to visit a couple of awesome eateries known for their jerk pork/chicken, and fish.

As a husband/father, one of the most important criteria in picking this destination was SAFETY. The only road into the property passes through a security gate manned by a security guard at all times, and we all felt extremely safe and secure. Our research also confirmed zero issues with safety and security. There are many other sightseeing locations within a 30-minute radius of Silver Sands, but we opted to keep things simple and we stayed close to our vacation home. In terms of what could be improved, I don't have much to say. Some people might like a pool, but we preferred the beach just steps a. For party animals, this is not a wild and crazy place. We prefer a quieter vacation and loved the serene sunsets and sunrises!

I would easily recommend this beautiful place to anyone! The beautiful beach is literally 1 minute walk. The food is great!! The weather was spectacular. This is so much better than staying at a resort:)

We spent the week here for our wedding and it could not have been a more ideal setting! Karen is an absolute dream of host, she knows the lay of the island inside and out, fantastic tips on what to do! Cannon Cottage is a delightful home! The Cottage has all the amenities you could want, the staff was superb at accommodating all of our whimsy, the food was absolutely delicious and when they say location, location, location, Cannon Cottage takes the cake. You can take your meals on the veranda with a view of the Caribbean and take a 30 second stroll to white sand beach! We will definitely be back, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our special week even more so!

My wife and I have been coming to Carribean for 25 years. Cannon Cottage is the only time we have felt a part of the culture while being treated like royalty at same time. The staff, Karen (owner), fellow guests of silver sands all made it so incredibly rich. Tours by Julie who prayed and sang gospel song at our request were fun and very safe. Barrington and Duval took us to local river head to high jump into a rainforest like blue pool. Devonhouse ice cream was best way to finish our authentic Jamaican meals on back deck. We loved Erica and Lorna who made each day feel like we lived hear. They shared their country’s stories as they cooked up the seafood we speared. Glad we cancelled rental car and instead paid locals directly. Snorkeling was good not great but when your at this perfect a beach how can you complain? All I can say is that you haven’t seen Jamaica unless you have let Karen Sangster and crew show it to you. Thanks be to God for preserving all this for us!

Fabulous is the only way to describe our recent stay at Cannon Cottage. We were warmly welcomed by Karen, who is the owner, and made our two weeks stay very memorable. Cannon is a beautiful and quaint cottage and is thoroughly updated. The cottage is staffed by Lorna, Erica, Barrington and Duval, who all made us feel at home. Lorna and Erica took good care of us and prepared delicious meals, while Barrington and Duval kept the garden and grounds well groomed. The garden at the back is so beautiful and tranquil and we enjoyed the quiet time spent there. There are spectacular views of the ocean from the verandah and we will always remember these as well as the sounds of the waves. The weather was terrific, the seas calm, the beach clean and not crowded and there were picturesque views of the sunrise and sunset.
