Do Not Rent – Unsafe, Misleading, and Poorly Maintained Property
I rented this VRBO property for my family vacation (wife and 2 children) from May 1st through May 6th, and it was the worst decision. We ended up flying to FL and not having a place to stay. It ruined our vacation. The photos on the listing looked great, but the reality was far from it. Upon arrival, we discovered several serious issues: black mold in the bathroom near the garage bedroom, an exterior door installed with spray foam you could literally see through, a broken window with a piece of cardboard instead of the glass pannel, an unsecured dishwasher that would come out whenever you tried to open the door, a pool that was chipped on the bottom and clearly not maintained properly and an overall unsafe property. On top of that, the HVAC system was not working properly, making the home uncomfortable.We immediately contacted the owner and VRBO, explained the situation, sent pictures and asked them to make things right by issuing us a refund. We left the property within two hours of arriving because it simply wasn’t livable and we did not feel safe. So far, we’ve received no response from either and no refund.This was a complete waste of time and money and so very stressful. I would strongly caution anyone considering this property—don’t trust the photos. There is a lot that you don't see in the photos. We tried to upload the real photos to this review and VRBO would not let us load them. Rent at your own risk.
