Half Door on viihtyisĂ€ mökki, joka on tĂ€ynnĂ€ luonnetta upealla paikalla Doolinin sydĂ€messĂ€, Claren kreivikunnassa. Se on asetettu takaisin pÀÀtieltĂ€ rauhallisessa ympĂ€ristössĂ€, mutta vain kivenheiton pÀÀssĂ€ kaikesta toiminnasta. Hotellissa on neljĂ€ kahden hengen huonetta, tĂ€ysin varustettu keittiö, iso ruokasali / olohuone ja erillinen olohuone, jossa liesi ja Ă€lykĂ€s TV. Runsaasti paikoitustilaa tiellĂ€ ja etelÀÀn pĂ€in oleva puutarha rentoutua. ÄskettĂ€in uusitussa olohuoneessa on katolla suuret paljaat palkit, ikkunan istuin kiukaan vieressĂ€, jotta voi kĂ€pertyĂ€ ja rentoutua, 50 tuuman Ă€lytelevisio ja mukavat nahkakalusteet, joihin voi upottaa. Avoin ruokasali / olohuone on ympĂ€röity ikkunoilla ja siinĂ€ on lasiovi, joka avautuu etelÀÀn pĂ€in olevaan puutarhaan. The house was roomy and comfortable; bathroom for each bedroom. Great location. Smooth check-in. As another reviewer commented, the situation with the water heater wasn't clear. The instruction sheet says the heater is on a preset timer, but doesn't tell you what time. The kitchen counters and dining table had a thin layer of dust, and the cookware was worn and scratched. Would prefer a regular coffee maker, but we saw from a previous reviewer that there's just a French press, so we did know about that.

Not worth the money

No longer the same award winning property, the awards were for the original B&B before it went vrbo. Poorly kept, many maintenance issues including windows and doors that won't open or shut properly. Dead flies in the kitchen upon arrival amongst other cleanliness issues. Thermostat is locked and automated, no room to adjust water temp if more or less is needed. Do not provide general hospitality items such as laundry soap or shower toiletries despite having a washer/dryer. When we sent a very nice email to the host regarding these issues. Please see the photos attached.

Adorable Cottage in a Great Location

Our family of 8 (4 couples) really enjoyed our stay in Doolin. The Cottage is in a great location and the property manager did communicate with us when we had a problem with cold showers (we didn't know what time that the water heater would be on). Doolin is very walkable and the cottage had a great game selection for our family. No real grocery store in town so pick up groceries before you arrive. We did miss an actual coffee maker, but the French press worked for a few cups.

Great property, great location!

The location, literally steps away from McDermott’s and McGann’s Pubs, was the main selling point for our party of 4 adults over 50. It was definitely larger than we needed so it was nice to have the space to spread out. Great location for seeing the Cliffs of Moher, taking the ferry to the Aran Islands, exploring the Burren and driving Slea Head Drive. The washer and dryer came in handy as this stop was just past the mid-point in our two week trip. The hosts were very responsive to questions. Only suggestion would be to provide a roll of paper towels or some napkins for meals. Overall a lovely home away from home!

Comfy beautiful house in an ideal location

House is located near Doolin Cave and Cliff of Moher. The terrain and houses around us looked so peaceful and serene. It's like a postcard everywhere you look. The house was well equip. For each of the 4 bedrooms, there was a bathroom. House is walking distant to pub and restaurants nearby. House fit our 2 families well. Kids enjoyed their own room to play D&D.

Doolin

The little town of Doolin was a wonderful surprise, we hiked to the cliffs from here and heard the best Irish music of our trip. The house was very comfortable and spacious and walking distance to town. We had a bit of an issue with check in but the owner was very responsive and handled it quickly. I would recommend this house.

Location and Comfort

The location could not be better for a stay in Doolin, you can walk to everything it was to offer! The house was well appointed and very very spacious. The hot water was challenging but you can message the host about it, we just were so busy and forgot to ask.

Fantastic Location, and a beautiful home

Half door cottage was pristine, beautiful, and so well located. It is right across the street from the local pub, that performed live music each night and was packed with life. Walking around the countryside and down to the pier was spectacular. The cottage, with 4 bedrooms was well stocked and very comfortable, next time we would stay longer.

Great location

Very spacious house for 4 adults. Perfect location to walk to pubs. Only reason no 5 rating -walls floors a bit thin so if you are not first one up you can here everyone else in kitchen. Maybe rubber stoppers on kitchen cabinets would help to prevent slamming sound

Perfect Start

This was our first stop on a 2 week Ireland adventure. Close to food and shops, while being a quiet spot for relaxing. Cottage was clean and comfortable. Highly recommended!

Responsive, generous and flexible

The property was well maintained and overall really wonderful place to stay. It is close to everything and if you are hiking the cliff trail out from Doolin it is a 20 min walk to the start of the hike and you pass little cafes. You can stay here and really enjoy walking everywhere you need to go. Plus there are local beaches and bays that are just a close drive away. We enjoyed hiking all day and then cleaning up and going to the different bars to listen to live music. Our situation was rare for the owner. It was winter when we went and a big storm just hit Ireland. The oil for heating got mixed with water so when we arrived the heat was not working. The owner was so accommodating and sent people to figure out to see if they can fix it. I felt that they were extremely generous and flexible to work with and make sure we were comfortable. They have a space heater that worked out really well in the living room when we wanted to hang out in a communal space and we moved it to the bedroom when we were ready to sleep. The weather was not so cold so we learned that with the space heater we really were able to warm up the room and then turn it off after an hour or so. The neighbor came by to make sure we knew where that was and to try and turn the regular heat on. I share this because I think it is really good to know that the owners are responsive, generous and flexible. They are all around great people with a wonderful network of people in the area. I would definitely go back.

Nice location plenty of space

Property was very clean, spacious, with room for a group or family to separate into different areas, as well as a nice kitchen and large dining space. Easy walk to the center of Doolin, with a pub and cafe located close by. Very quiet location, with plenty of parking.

Great house, great location

We were mostly very happy with the Half-Door House. The rooms were great and the house provided a great location for our stay in the Doolin area. The floors could have been a little cleaner and shower temperature a little warmer, but overall things were fine. I would go back there without hesitation.

Cute place in Doolin. Great location

Overall a great stay. Close to the cliffs and pubs. Place could use a few more amenities like soap, shampoo, etc. it was Perfect for our family!

The Half Door Cottage is just a stone's throw from two of the best traditional music pubs in Ireland yet set back off the main road with tranquil pasture views. It's just a short walk to a spectacular secluded beach or hike to the Cliffs of Moher right from the front door.
