Walk to park, enjoy live music, picnic, fishing or just relaxing. Access CSH Trailhead directly from backyard. Sip a glass wine and enjoy the beautiful sunsets from our expansive deck with fire pit. Master bedroom has fireplace and private deck overlooking the harbor. Life size 2 story playhouse for the kids. No car needed to enjoy this beautiful town.

Convenient to Huntington Village, Paramount Theatre, Whaling Museum, Fish Hatchery, Fire house Museum and much more.

Family reunion trip

Home was very clean with all supplies needed for our stay of 3 nights. Location was perfect with ability to walk to town as well as a bonus a state park hiking trail accessible from the back yard.

Short getaway

Such a comfortable and well appointed place. Thoughtful touches throughout, and great views of the water and wildlife. The finished basement includes a great hang out spot, and a ping pong room!

Great stay!

This was a well appointed home, with everything you could possibly need. The view of the sound was wonderful. Our stay was in February to visit with a relative but we definitely would come back in the summer. Kim was a great hostess!

Home away from home

Captain’s cottage quite literally felt like a home away from home. The property was clean, comfortable, and wholesome. This is important when traveling as a family. The host did a great job with tasteful decor and appropriate amenities. We had a blast and highly recommend for families, or anyone who enjoys comfortable views of beautiful sunsets.

Beautiful and well thought out property

Perfect spot for us to have access to family and boating Everything is very well thought out and when we did have family visit, we had everything we needed. Kim is very responsive and when there was a need, she made sure it was met. We will be back!

Cold Spring Sanctuary

Our stay was excellent and very welcoming! Like a home away from home. Kim and George are very kind and welcoming and put a lot of effort into our arrival. We arrived in the winter and can just imagine how amazing the other seasons must be. An absolute gem of a place!!! Cant wait to see the Captain again, he's so cool.!!! Great stay in a charming town!

I travelled to work for the week on Long Island with two work colleagues. This house made the trip a treat! Love the kitchen amenities and great beds. The owner was so kind and although it snowed on day, the porch and drive were shoveled before we left for work. One caveat: if you don’t like stairs, this isn’t the place for you. If stairs are fine, I can’t recommend this super clean and absolutely charming house more. Will gladly book again when I visit.

Amazing and Memorable

Our stay at the Captain’s Cottage was much more than we expected. This home is beautifully furnished and exudes comfort. Our hosts were wonderful, responsive and so accommodating. If we could spend every weekend at the cottage, we would. We intend to come back as many times as possible. You will not be disappointed. A treasure indeed.

Idyllic Getaway

The home is perfect on so many levels. It’s updated and well equipped, immaculately clean, well appointed, and very cozy. Beaches, and the quaint, main street of Cold Spring Harbor are a short walk away. The larger beach at Sunken Meadow State Park is a short, 15-20 minute drive, and Manhattan is only an hour away. This is the perfect spot for a family looking to combine the peace and tranquillity of a small, beach side town with occasional jaunts into the city. Communication with the very helpful and attentive owner/property manager was seamless. We will definitely return. We stayed for Thanksgiving week, and would love to stay in the summer as well.

The Christmas house!

My family stayed at the Captain’s Cottage for a week over holiday break and affectionately called it the “Christmas House”. We had a lovely time, the views of Cold Spring Harbor from the downstairs windows, front porch and upper porch were incredible, especially at sunrise. The house was cozy, very clean with so many wonderful touches for the season. We enjoyed watching movies, playing ping pong, visiting downtown Cold Spring Harbor and Huntington, and using the upstairs fireplace before bed on the colder nights. Kim was good about checking in and communicating while also giving us space to be with our family. Thank you so much Kim and George for a great stay! We hope to return again!

Gorgeous and peaceful town

The home could not have been more suitable. We were visiting Great Neck area for our daughter’s graduation from the Merchant Marine Academy. There are not many options besides hotels within 30 minutes, so we decided to try a new area. While time only allowed us to take a quick drive into down, we saw a few shops and other places (such as the the fish hatchery and whaling museum) we would have loved to have visited. The Captains cottage is beautiful from the outside but even more gorgeous on the inside. The home has so much character, and the owners have thought of every last detail to help guests to feel at home. It was simple to gain entry (with use of a keypad) to the home when we arrived. There was a plethora of nice bathroom towels, a nicely done full bathroom on the main level, comfortably made beds, a fully-stocked kitchen (to include a Keurig and an espresso maker!), and a beautiful sitting area on the front porch with amazing views of the water. We would absolutely love to return to this home if we would ever be back in the area but would just need to allow ourselves more time to enjoy the home and the quaint town.

Too many positives to mention here!

I recently stayed here for a friend's Memorial so I was so glad to have a lovely place to come back to for recovery. Immaculate and beautifully decorated! So many thoughtful extras like motion sensors on stairs, little snack and coffee for arrival. Great communication with host. Views of the water and one block to a little park, a deli and a restaurant, so happy to park the car in the driveway and be done. One of the best places I have ever stayed! Recommend it highly. Be aware that king bed is on 2nd floor with no bathroom but if you have no mobility issues it is a lovely room with its own balcony. There are 2 bedrooms on 1st floor with a queen and 2 twins so not an issue. Walk in shower on first floor is a plus! It was so nice having a beautiful place that I could invite a cousin and 2 friends to visit me here. Rockers on the porch, patio table and chairs, I can't say enough about this home. So happy with it !! Thank you, hosts, for offering this lovely place to others like me. Good luck with your future guests.

Really enjoyed our stay for Parents Weekend with our Son on leave from the United States Merchant Marine Academy. Delightful location. didn't get to enjoy teh outside as much due to some rain, but wonderful outdoor facilities. Woudl definitly stay again.

Look No Further! Such and amazing find. The host was lovely to work with and the property stunning. A homey coastal cottage that offered something for everyone. Comfy beds, board games and puzzles, huge flat screen and TV and cozy blankets for cool mornings. If you have small children the play house in the backyard is a dream and the beach pass that is provided gives access to a great family beach for swimming or looking for shells. Super easy walk to town and a great restaurant, Harbor Mist, a block away. This place has it all!
