Welcome to The Old Opera House Loft -a wide open, unique space in downtown Breaux Bridge. This one-of-a-kind stay features 1 private bedroom, 1 bath, and 4 beds in the airy living area. With a kitchen, dining area, ping pong table, and a massive porch overlooking downtown, itâs perfect for families, groups, or creatives who need room to breathe. Soak up the character of a building, then step outside to antique shops, local cafĂ©s, restaurants, and the peaceful Bayou Teche just around the corner.
The Jules Broussard Buidling was built in 1885. This building was originally located on W. Bridge St. next to the railroad track. It was first a general store operated by Jules Broussard and in 1905 housed Breaux Bridgeâs first public school. In 1920, it was moved to its present site by log rollers a team of oxen. Here it has served as an opera house, a temporary armory hall, a Woodmen of the World meeting hall, and a shoe repair shop. It is presently used as a historic short term rental tourist destination.
Guests will have access to the entire 1 bed, 1 bath loft apartment, as well as the attached porch & the parking area. The parking area may be shared by guests in the downstairs apartment at times.
Please communicate through the app so that everyone on our team can view the messages & respond quicker. We are available from around 7am-9pm via the app.
This building includes 2 units. This apartment is located upstairs , and there is an additional loft apartment upstairs which may also be occupied. This is a historic building with most of the modern amenities, but does have some quirky features from yesteryear. We hope you enjoy the character of the space.
