Hummingbird House

House was just as advertised. Very roomy and clean. We were just two couples but could have easily brought more guests with the upstairs beds and bath. Kitchen was very well stocked. The view from the decks were incredible and it was cool watching the hummingbirds from the decks. Great owners that were very responsive too although we did not have any issues.

Great experience

Stayed there with my family for 5 days. Margaret is very responsive, the house itself is very clean, well equipped, secluded and most importantly with a wonderful view. It has everything you will need for a comfortable and enjoyable vacation. Only inconvenience I faced is with the road going to the house. I rented a small car and it kind of struggled with the potholes and gravel road. And of course Margaret cannot do anything about it. Only thing I would do differently next time is rent an SUV instead.

Fantastic property

We had a wonderful stay! The home was spotless, tastefully decorated, and had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. One of our favorite parts was watching the hummingbirds come and go - such a peaceful touch. The view from the property was absolutely beautiful, and the communication with the host was fantastic from start to finish. Highly recommend this lovely spot.

Amazing House

We have been to Exuma many many times, and the Hummingbird House more than exceeded our expectations. The house is well stocked with plenty of extra bedding and blankets as well as bath and beach towels. The kitchen had everything we needed and the house was very clean. We grilled out a couple nights and enjoyed dinner with local friends. The view from the wrap around deck is amazing!! It’s like being on top of the trees with breathtaking views of the salt flats on one side and the harbor on the other. There’s an AC unit in each room so you can adjust to your comfort level. The washer and dryer worked better than any house we’ve rented there before. All communication from the owners was prompt and pleasant. The caretaker Karleen did a wonderful job preparing the house and is also super sweet! Definitely a 5 Star experience!! Can’t wait to return.

Enjoyed Three Weeks

We stayed at the Hummingbird House for three weeks in January. Communication with the host (Margaret) was excellent prior to our visit and while we were at the house. She provided excellent information about the house and Exuma, making our stay much easier and more pleasant. The house is very spacious, clean, true to the photos and was equipped with all that was needed for our stay. We had only one problem during our stay...an internet glitch that was taken care of quickly as allowed by "island time". The house is located 10 minutes from Georgetown where you can find groceries, the water store, liquor stores and a few restaurants. The best beaches are located about 20 minutes south of the house on Little Exuma. If you go, you'll definitely be spending time enjoying the view and the sunshine from the deck!

Fantastic views!

The house and location were perfect for us. View from the deck was amazing - could see both sides of the island. And the humming birds were an added bonus. Our family would spend hours on the deck! House is adorable and near bonefish flats and Georgetown.Host was very easy to communicate with and very responsive. She provides a host of information to help with your stay on the island and use of the house.We would stay there again in a heartbeat, definitely a piece of paradise for us!

The Hummingbird House was a perfect homebase as we explored. The views from the wrap around deck are stunning. Our own piece of paradise

From the moment we booked until we checked out Margaret was wonderful to work with and she quickly responded to any questions. Hummingbird house has incredible views and it off the beaten path. The location of the home in Great Exuma was great especially since our favorite beach is only 20 minutes away (Forbes Hill). We felt like we were in our own little world and heard nothing but nature. We were able to enjoy watching all of the birds and also stayed covered when the rain rolled in. The home was perfect for our family and the kitchen is well equipped. We also took advantage of the grill on numerous occasions which was great after a long day exploring. We made many memories on this trip. Thank you Margaret for sharing your home with us!

Amazing House!

Margaret was absolutely amazing. Great host, excellent communication throughout all the stay. The house is well located. All amenities you need. Very clean. Also, the best views of Exuma is here. Sunrise, sunset, the sea. Beautiful. We had a great time and hope to be back soon!

Hummingbird Heaven

I just can’t say enough about our wonderful stay at Hummingbird House. We made our reservation about a year in advance and then needed to ask to make changes twice. Margaret was always quick to answer our messages and was extremely accommodating and extremely nice about it. So appreciated! We felt well prepared with all the info that was sent to us about the house and the area. The house was clean when we arrived and had everything we needed. It was lovely to have paper products to get started and to not have to pack beach towels in our luggage. The house is adorable! We loved being able to spend the day at the beach and then drive the hill to the house and relax on the amazing wrap around porch. The views are beautiful and we loved the visits by all the birds and checking out cool insects. We felt like we got a full island experience. If we are lucky enough to return to this beautiful island we would not hesitate to stay here again. ❀

Best Ever!

The property was completely fabulous! The host was very friendly and responded quickly to texts. We had a problem with the dishwasher, and the maintenance man was there within minutes and fixed the problem. Best VRBO we have ever stayed in by far. Thank you, Margaret!

Just perfect

My family and I stayed here for 9 nights. The house is off the beaten path, but you feel like a local fast. The view feels like paradise. The house is a short drive to all the beaches we visited. We felt safe and comfortable. Margaret was an excellent communicator. And the house had everything we needed. We can’t wait until we can return. Thank you!

Friendly Exuma

The property is beautiful in every way. Margaret is extremely helpful. Views from balcony are fabulous. We stayed here for a month, so experienced almost everything Exuma had to offer, from the most bluest water you'll ever see, to the friendly island people. If your looking for a very, very nice place to stay, ( this is it ) !

Wow! The View!

Great hidden gem located close to Georgetown. Margaret was amazing and responded quickly to all of my messages and questions. My husband and 2 other friends stayed in Hummingbird house for 5 nights. the views from the front and back of the house are so beautiful. The home had everything we needed for a perfect little getaway. We ate in a couple of nights grilling out and enjoying those amazing views. The roads getting there are a little rough, but we rented a van and didn't have any problems. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and for the price, you can't beat it. Thank you so much Maragaret & Mike for sharing your lovely home with us.

Lovely Stay!

The home was clean and had a wonderful view. Very quiet at it is off the beaten path. I recommend a four wheel drive vehicle to get there but it is worth it! We hope to be back!

Best view ever

We had a great time, Margaret was the ultimate host. She made sure we were well looked after and very attentive. Really enjoyed the fantastic views. The place was more than comfortable and homey .

I loved how high up we were. The view of the land was beautiful. The bird sounds were sweet. I also like the local music we'd hear in the distance, albeit infrequently. The home is very clean! The kitchen is well-equipped! The deck was where we ate our meals - delightful!

We started coming to Exuma 16 years ago to help veterinarians with free neuter and spay clinics for cats and dogs. We fell in love with this beautiful island and its people immediately. We have been all over the Caribbean and Bahamas and have never seen water quite as beautiful as it is around the Exuma Cays. We are all animal lovers and like the fact that there is an ongoing effort to try to help the animals of this island. We live in a cold climate and this is the perfect warm getaway for us.

We love this house because it is so private but yet is close to town, beaches, fishing and several excellent restaurants. The view is absolutely breathtaking, the colors of the waters are stunning and the tropical flowering gardens provide a natural habitat for many types of birds. It is the perfect getaway any time of year. The summers are a little warmer but still very nice. We are off the beaten path but you can walk to the bonefish flats for great fishing of all kinds , kayaking , paddle boarding and snorkeling . We are close to the 6 best beaches on the island ... 10 to 20 mins away by car.

We fell in love with the view from this house. We have been told by locals that it is one of the best views on the Island. In the morning one can watch the sun come up with a cup of coffee and in the evening there are glorious sunsets. Also, because of the location on the ridge, there is always a cool ocean breeze.We love the location...private , close to town and beaches. Everyday is an adventure on Exuma, whether it is discovering a new beach, fishing the flats or talking to folks from all over the world who love the sailing that the Exuma Cays provide.
