Sun King ja mukana oleva linja-auto Jester yhdistyvät yhdeksi Beachwalkin suurimmista kiinteistöistä, joissa on 7 makuuhuonetta ja 6 kylpyhuonetta. Beachwalk Resort is amazing, but this house needs lots of updates

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family, as well as my sister’s families and my parents, were all looking forward to a week at Beachwalk for several months leading up to our first extended family vacation with all the grandkids. I was looking forward to showing my extended family the resort that I had grown to love from my two previous visits. The resort is amazing! The pool, access to Lake Kai, quick access to Lake Michigan, golf cart community, and the many resort amenities make this an ideal location to relax and unwind for a week. Unfortunately, Sun King/Jester needs a complete update. The carpet is filthy. To the point where we only felt comfortable wearing our shoes everywhere in the home. Several pieces of furniture were stained, broken, or in need of repair. There was also mold in the showers, a non-working outdoor shower, grease collected in pans under the grills, water damage on the ceiling in the kitchen, and stains on some of the bedding. As a result of these items, Beach Walk resort staff came to assess and after seeing the condition of the home, offered to put us in a newly built home, not yet being rented out, for the remainder of our stay. Kristian and Erin at Beachwalk were great in helping us transition to the other home. I would recommend Beachwalk resort, however would not recommend Sun King unless they remodel and do a thorough cleaning of the home. Also, to add, the golf cart was abnormally slow and upstairs master had difficulty keeping cool, even with an added box fan. The owners should ask themselves if they would want to pay approximately 12 grand a week to stay in this home. My guess is that their answer would be, no.

Large Space but Needs Updated & Cleaned!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was the perfect size and location for a large family vacation. We loved the proximity to the pool & parks, and it was a quick & easy walk to the beach. However, the house needs a good deep cleaning and maintenance. The floors were filthy to the point we wore shoes at all times and the doors into the house all need repairs. They were incredibly difficult to open and close. We would have loved to enjoyed more time on the front porch, but it also needed repairs and cleaned. The large back patio was nice as well, but the outdoor trash cans smelled so bad it was impossible to sit near them. Overall, the house worked but we would not return to this property.

The wrap around porch and deck were very grimy. No working outdoor shower. Mattresses and carpets need replacing. The master bedroom and 3rd floor bunk room could not cool properly. Serious plumbing issues occurred. Walls and trim need painting. The golf cart was very very slow. Comfortable living room furniture. Roomy kitchen with 2 refrigerators was good. Great basement space.

Great Group Retreat!

Needs some upgrades for the price tag. Had some birds flying in and out of screened porch bc of broken screens and missing wood. TV worked very poorly. Rentals should all have a subscription for price we pay. Grills were partially working and leaking grease all over the deck. Garage spot was fill with so much stuff we had to move stuff to get a car in. 5 cars will not fit without a garage spot. Outside shower does not work which makes a sandy mess inside. Overall we still had plenty of fun and basement was great place for the kids. We love Beachwalk resort and just wanted owners to know what they might want to consider moving forward.

We stayed here 2 yo and found that this property has gone down hill. Obvious that the owner has not done much to maintain. Exposed nails on rear deck and stairs. All nail heads are rusted. Carpets are beyond dirty. Front yard overgrown. We're looking elsewhere at Beachwalk for next time.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: While we love Beachwalk as a whole, we were very disappointed in the homes, SunKing and Jester, that we rented. They were filthy. We found ants, mice droppings, hairballs, and toenail clippings. The dishes had dried food on them. The walls were black, the furniture was very dirty. The chairs at the dining table were so dirty with old food that we ate standing up. The patio furniture was covered in mold. There was even vomit dried on on e of the bunk beds. The Jester did not have any pots/pans for cooking. There was a coffeepot but no coffee mugs.

This was a great place to stay. We had a big family gathering and there was plenty of room. The property management was great to deal with. I totally recommend this house.

Spacious but Dirty

The house would have been perfect if it was clean. The layout and size worked perfectly for our group. But it’s hard to enjoy a house when you can’t sit on the furniture because it is filthy and the bedding has soiled spots on the comforters and the dishes in the cupboard are dirty and the carpets are so filthy that the bottoms of your socks and feet turn black. We understand these houses are not brand new and have renters in and out frequently, but when you want to charge as much as this property owner does and the house has not seen any improvements, it appears, in a long time, and the furniture and window blinds look like they came out of a dumpster, it’s very disappointing. The description of the house in the rental listing is extremely exaggerated. The description states, “The Sun King is gorgeous and in immaculate condition.” Not that the kitchen is bad, but don’t sell that it has been updated when the cabinets, countertops and appliances are what you would expect from a 2000 build. The wrap-around porch is probably nice if it was not covered in dirt. The screen doors do not latch and slam open and closed in the wind which woke us up during the storm. The garage was full and we were not able to utilize a parking spot, but we were still able to park 5 cars on property. The Beachwalk office staff were very accommodating and brought sheets to cover the furniture, at our request, so we were able sit on the furniture and enjoy the spacious living area. And they brought new bedding for those that needed changed. We have been coming to the Beachwalk Community since 2012 and we always make the best of our time here. We will not rent this property again, but we will definitely be back.

Reviewer Comments: The property was in a great location.Our grouped loved being able to walk to the beach and the firepit was nice to have in early October.The property is old and worn looking.It needs a good cleaning. The TV's did not work until day 3. Someone had taken the Roku remote.Property management was slow to respond on day 2 and finally came thru on day 3. The DVD player never did work.

Perfect lodging for our group retreat

Sun king and Jester was a perfect vacation/retreat home for our group of families with young children, singles, and couples. We found that there was a very well stocked kitchen with basic seasonings, ample cookware and utensils, and servingware. Kitchen drawers were not super organized but we could find everything we needed. We appreciated the number of bathrooms to serve the group as well. It would be helpful to note that the bunk beds downstairs are low bunk beds, with the bottom bunk on the floor and the top bunk height at about an average person’s shoulder height. The basement area was fun for the children, with ample toy selection and books. The movie area could benefit from a few more kid-friendly movies. Everyone in our party really enjoyed their stay and we would definitely consider returning next year! Beachwalk Vacation office was also helpful for our check in and check out. Clear directions and quick immediate responses to phone calls and texts.
