Gîte Quinta do Mosteiro - Ecofarm pour 7 personnes

We had 10 days here in August with 3 young children. The property is in an extremely beautiful location. Whilst we were surrounded by peaceful countryside we were not without things to do.

Zeze has equipped the property with many games from the paddle board and boats to ping pong and mini golf. The children loved exploring the garden as did we. The herbs and fruits growing made for the most amazing sights and smells. Each day we paddled out to explore a different part of the reservoir. We recommend doing this as early in the day as possible as it can get windy on the water in the afternoon.

The property itself was very clean and comfortable with superb showers and a well equipped kitchen and laundry room. The outdoor area includes an outdoor kitchen and shower room. We fired up the pizza oven and BBQ on a couple of nights which was a great success.

As a self catering property, it is worth knowing that it took us about 25 minutes to get to a larger supermarket to get a full range of fresh food so you will need to stock up. Other than this we had a very easy and enjoyable stay and will certainly recommend it to others.

Zeze and his family are very hospitable and we are very happy to have spent time in your special part of Portugal.

We stayed in this beautiful home with our two kids (12 and 8) for three weeks and enjoyed every single day.

The house is very clean to the last detail. Towels, furniture, decorations are lovely picked and fit well in the house. Waking up with the view of the lake will be a fond memory to take away from this holiday and bring back some of the calmness and peacefulness in a hectic working life schedule.

The is lots to do around the house, play mini golf, ping pong, read a book in the hammock or swim in the “infinity pool”.

The kids and me tried stand-up paddling on the lake, went out with the Kajak and the small electric boat to explore it and we would definitely recommend that too.

Car is a must. The vibrant city of Porto is less than an hour away. Coimbra and Aveiro can also be reached in 30-60 minutes. Grocery stores are also 25 min away. We’ve seen a lot of hiking routes and hikers in the area, lots of cyclists seem to enjoy the up and downs on the serpentines.

There are no direct neighbors. One house is very near but the owner was not there. Above Quinta do Mosteiro is a house but not in sight and you rarely see someone when you drive through their yard to reach your house. For a weekend they hosted however the Girls and Boys Scouts that camped on their ground. We could hear them but they did not bother us that much.

Last but not least, Zeze is a wonderful host who comes daily very early to clean the pool, water the plants etc. He even took the time to tour with us one day and show us sites that we would not have discovered on our own. ...Or he brings you lots of tasty fruits and lemons from his garden. He recommended a fantastic butcher and restaurant nearby. Thank you Zeze, the kids had a fantastic time too and would like to return as well.

Ein wundervolles Haus in herrlicher Lage. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt. Der Blick über den Stausee ist einfach wahnsinnig schön. Man kann sich gar nicht daran satt sehen. Auch die Ausstattung lässt keine Wünsche offen. Die Besitzerfamilie ist wahnsinnig nett und um das wohlergehen ihrer Gäste bemüht. Angefangen von der Flasche Begrüßungsportwein, selbstgemachter Marmelade und frischgepflückten Orangen über die liebevollen Details wie frische Blumen und farblich abgestimmte Handtücher. Hier stimmt einfach alles. Auch wenn das Haus rustikal und alt aussieht, gibt es hier jeglichen Komfort. Da es von Grund auf nach eigenen Ideen des Besitzers neu aufgebaut wurde: Hierbei wurden viele originelle Details umgesetzt. Das ganze Anwesen ist sehr gepflegt. Zeze hat mit uns einen sehr schönen Ausflug zu den schönsten Plätzen der Gegend unternommen, die wir alleine so gar nicht gefunden hätten. Die Kinder (8 und 12) waren auch ohne WLan und Fernsehen keine Sekunde gelangweilt, dafür gibt es hier viel zu viel zu entdecken und zu unternehmen (Baden, Kanu fahren, mit der Katze spielen, Tischtennis, Kicker...und die herrlicher Ruhe geniesen) Ein Auto ist aber absolut unerlässlich, da die nächste Einkausmöglichkeit und auch die sehr leckeren und preiswerten Kneipen der Umgegend nicht zu Fuß zu erreichen sind. Eine solche wundervolle Alleinlage hat halt auch ihren Preis.

Wir werden auf jeden Fall nochmal wiederkommen. Dieses Haus ist seinen Preis auf jeden Fall wert.

Hemos estado 6 días en esta casa, y me quedo con lo que nos dijo Zeze (el propietario) al llegar.... "ha costado llegar ehhh?¿? no es fácil llegar al paraíso!".... y que razón tenia!!! Muchisimo mejor que en las fotos, tienen todo cuidado al detalle, super bonito, y el entorno un pasada, siempre y cuando te guste la naturaleza, claro, te acuestas oyendo a las ranas, y te despiertas oyendo a los gallos, una autentica maravilla, en serio, altamente recomendable, VOLVEREMOS SEGURO!!! GRACIAS POR TODO ZEZE!!

La casa está situada en lugar privilegiado, las vistas son impresionantes, cerca de Oporto, Coimbra y Aveiro.

Los dueños muy atentos en todo momento, los niños disfrutaron mucho con las diferentes zonas de recreo que tiene la casa.
