We stayed at Holiday Villas III Unit 504 over Christmas. The unit was good in every respect. It was clean inside and out. The kitchen was very well equiped. The TV/dining area was bigger than most condos that we've stayed in. It had a bigger balcony than most, and the gulf view was fantastic.
It could have had a little larger bathrooms. Both were small. You would expect a little larger given the size of the condo.
The building is arranged so that the gulf facing rooms are stepped back from the center room. The rooms that end in x04 are the middle rooms. They stick out towards the gulf the most. Because they don't have another room on either side, they have a 180 degree view up and down the beach. There is even a window in the side of the TV area that makes the area even brighter. The rooms that end in x01-x03 and x05-x06 set back. They have a good view straignt out at the gulf, but not the 180 degree view (and breeze).. I would recommend the middle rooms.
There are also rooms that do not front the gulf ending above x06. These face the street but do have a view of the intercostal.
I have seen comments about the fact that there is only one elevator. The building was not fully occupied when we were there, so we didn't have a problem. But I can see it would be an issue when it is full. There are 8 floors, and a lot of rooms on each floor.
Others commented about the A/C compressor being loud and blowing hot air. Again because of the weather when we were there, it didn't run much. But when it came on, it was loud.
One thing that would worry me if I rented the condo in the summer is whether the A/C unit could keep up. There are only 2 vents that serve the kitchen/dining/TV room area. I would question where it would be very cool on July and August afternoons when the sun is directly on the sliding door. But I don't know.
Lastly the area that the condo is in does not have as many restaurants as Clearwater Beach or some of the other areas. I think you would for sure want a car if you stayed their and wanted to eat out much.
All in all, I would stay there again IF the A/C is cool enough in warm weather.

Pre college getaway!

Fantastic View Great Location
The view was to die for! The location was perfect. Staff was very friendly and property was well maintained. The kitchen had everything you would need to cook. The bathrooms were small but doable. The mattresses are very firm. Overall this is a great place to stay.

Great Gulf view & access
We loved this unit! It's spacious and updated. Best 5th floor view of the Gulf/beach from the large balcony directly overlooking the beach. Kitchen has everything you need, large dining table(s), and the living room/sitting room is large and accommodating.

View is Great - Rest is Meh
Pros: Best view and beach access we’ve ever experienced. Living room furniture was nice and comfortable.
Cons: Air conditioner kept freezing up even though we kept thermostat on 72. Hot water heater breaker was flipped off by plumber - breaker in the hot water heater closet was on, but the breaker for the hot water heater was in another room. One day of cold showers was not the end of the world. Beds were uncomfortable. Bedding and towels were scratchy and low quality. Pillows weren’t comfortable.
The owner could spend $1,000 or less to upgrade furnishings, bedding, and towels, and this would make a tremendous difference. We get the impression that the owner believes the view makes up for everything else. It doesn’t.
