An La Jolla village ocean front landmark house upper stair room designed by a famous designer, remodeling recently. Next to the attraction of La Jolla cove. Walking distance to restaurants, museum, beaches, gallery and stores in La Jolla village. It is the best location in La Jolla , but not five star hotel. It is an old cottage style house and remodeled two years ago. If you looking for location, convenience, and oceanfront, here is Perfer for you.

This house is divided into two upstairs and downstairs with its own entrance. The two parts are totally separated except sharing the laundry and garage, as well as air condition temp controller. Both can reserved for the same period of time if both are available. Downstair booking No: 2785651. The garage can fit one SUV or Stand car for each unit . This upperstair room has one parking space no. 2.
However, since this is older house by the ocean, you can hear ocean wave, sometime for laundry nose , upperstair nose or dog nose. In order to make both comfortable, not use the laundry between 10pm to 8am. Please keep quiet between this hours.
Since this is by the ocean, when you check in, you may feel ocean smell, but once you open the window and door, it will gone. Also inside and outside of the house, it may be has some items rushed by ocean braze everyday. Let us know as soon as you found. Again it is not five start hotel for luxury.

This upstair room of the house with its own entrance separated from downstair.
It consists of one high ceiling, spacious bedroom, a full size bathroom, a half simple kitchen, an office area, a balcony and a large deck.
The full size bathroom has a separate shower and bathtub. The bathtub comes with jacuzzi.
The small kitchen comes with coffer makers, a microwaves, one portable electrical stove. A small refrigerator and a dishwasher with a BBQ stove in one of the patio.
Two people can work in coast view office area which is separated by a wall.
The balcony has 180 degree view of ocean and coast.
The larger patio above the garage has two burners stoves, BBQ stove with two lay down chairs.
Due to the ocean braze and trees, there are some leaves and flowers fall on patio after cleaning , you need to sweep before you use it.

The location of this property is stellar and the views of the ocean are a daily delight. The main room is spacious and light; the balcony is a wonderful spot for breakfast, a glass of wine, or simple contemplation. The property has an unconventional floor plan and some signs of aging. The biggest difficulty for us was manipulating the entry locks. However, the minor problems did not diminish the beauty of living at the La Jolla coast.

Beautiful and relaxing

We had a lovely stay for 5 nights to celebrate a birthday. The property is in such an amazing location, very fun design, comfortable beds and nice patios. We loved the seagulls that would visit us every day. The ocean view was phenomenal.

Incredible view

The listing is pretty accurate. It’s no 5 star accommodation and understandable with it being an older house. The views are incredible and the location is great. We walked everywhere which was great. For the price, a few simple investments like comfortable patio chairs and an umbrella that works would go a long way. Most are here for the view after all. The interior is fine. Reasonably clean. The comforter had holes and all the furniture is very cheap and uncomfortable, appear dirty and the bed frame is peeling. I also felt a bit uncomfortable that there’s two units and we had access codes to both, which made me think they had the code to our unit as well. Overall, it was a nice stay but 3 days would be my max.

Best getaway!

Place was perfect with incredible views and access to the beach and trails. Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean can’t be beat! Owner was so responsive to any messages. The whole stay was definitely a 10/10

Fantastic Stay

The house was just as described. The veiw was so beautiful from the balcony, it was hard each day to leave. Walking distance from anywhere in La Jolla. Would definitely recommend

We were impressed with the listing & it did not disappoint. In fact, I’m not sure the 2nd/back patio was even advertised. Pleasant surprises all around this place, definitely just for a couple.

This property is in a perfect place with a perfect view. Listening to the waves was relaxing. We saw dolphins and seals from looking out over the ocean. There’s a great walking path down the coast.

Perfect Oceanside getaway

First off you could not ask for a better location in La Jolla! Proximity to the beach, newly reopen museum ,restaurants, iand the sunset right there on your patio!! Beyond charming and one of the best showers I’ve ever taken !! TOUGH to leave 🌅🌅

Excellent location, Old Cali Vibe!

Breathtaking views along the ocean tide-pools. Internet/tv was a little slow. Very walkable, if you’re fit for some hills.

Idyllic Stay in La Jolla

The views from this property were spectacular! It was very clean and had everything we needed. We appreciated being able to park in the garage. The host Simon was very responsive when we checked in and everything was perfect so no need to contact him again. Great restaurants within walking distance. "The Kitchen" at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego had a creative and delicious breakfast and lunch menu. We'd definitely book this again!

Exceeded expectations

We are very familiar with La Jolla so we knew the location was outstanding when we booked. But the pictures here do not do the charm of this place justice! The description mentions that it's not a 5 star hotel and it's not - but it is definitely a 5 star experience staying here! I could sit on the balcony and people/dog watch all day! We will be back and in fact hope to come with a group and rent both units. Thanks for sharing this amazing place with us!

A Lovely and Quirky Place for One or Two in an Excellent location

This apartment, one of several in a vintage building just off the gentle cliffs in LA Jolla is quirky, charming and comfortable. After some initial communication issues with our hosts which were resolved, we found our one night stay to be just fine. It overlooks the ocean, is just a few minutes walk from. everything that La Jolla has to offer and it's quite charming in its eclectic design and decor. Overall experience was a solid 4 out of 5, and we would return now that we understand the specifics of this particular rental.

Perfect getaway

It was the perfect getaway. The view from the balcony was amazing. We spent hours just sitting and relaxing. The kitchen didn't have a stove but there is a grill and flat top on the back balcony. But also, i had no intention of cooking so it was fine. The floor was a little dirty and the rug needed a vacuum, but the character of the place made up for it.

Short stay, but worth it!

We had a wonderful 2 nights at this beachfront property. It’s just like the photos show. The kitchen is lacking if you intend to cook for yourself, but the number of great restaurants within walking distance are fantastic. I am the cook at home and I wasn’t going to miss out on a couple days not cooking… The space is romantic and very quiet. Beautiful balcony of course. The garage is tight if you have more than one car using it. We were lucky and had it to ourselves and barely fit in a large SUV. Overall, we will rebook this location on our twice yearly trip to San Diego/La Jolla.

Perfect location

My husband and I had a lovely and relaxing stay at the lampshade. It was perfect for the two of us and the location was superb! The views were incredible and we could walk everywhere. Overall the experience was amazing! Communication with Simon was great. Two minor issues: the toilet has a mind of its own (it’s computerized) and we didn’t realize and there wasn’t clear communication about the code to the second door to our unit and if that entrance was shared with the other unit. We discovered is was shared after we left our shoes and wallet (briefly) in the shared entrance. But again, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A Gem

The house was beautifully furnished and had such an exceptional view. It was a very easy walk to anywhere we wanted to go, even with my 77 year old mom. Any time we had a question or need, Simon responded immediately and kindly. My mom loved that there was extra linens for the shower and extra blankets for the bed. Previous reviews mentioned a smell. I believe that had to have been before new flooring because there was no smell at all. My mom and sister are already saying they want to book another trip and stay in the same house. If you’re considering it, do it!

Listen to the waves

This property was exactly as described. The best feature is the unobstructed gorgeous view of the cliffs and beach out 2 walls of windows. We loved opening the windows and listening to the waves. You can walk 20 feet and be on the sunset cliffs overlooking the ocean. Easily walk to all the fun places in La Jolla from the property. Our favorite coffee was the Snickerdoodle at Buzz and we went back for the avocado toast at Blue Whale twice. The bed was clean and comfortable. The only downsides of the property are the uncomfortable patio chairs on the balcony and the aged and peeling nightstands. The property has signs that it hasn’t had a deep clean in awhile. There is dust collected in corners and some green stain?/goop? in the corner of the bathroom floor. But all the surfaces did clearly have a quick clean before we arrived.

Beautiful

This place was perfect to relax and fall asleep to the sound of the ocean waves! When we first arrived we weren’t sure if the cleaners were done cleaning or not. There was a cabinet door open, blankets disheveled in the closet, and the door to the balcony was open. I contacted the owner about our check-in but never received a response. Everything appeared to be clean so we just unpacked to begin our vacation. We could walk to many places, but we don’t mind walking a mile or more for dining. The pictures accurately represent this rental. We totally enjoyed our visit and had everything we needed while we were there. You are just steps from the ocean, but there is no need to leave your room to enjoy it!

Amazing!

I will start with all the bad things first. The parking is t good if you don’t have a tiny car. I have a Jeep Gladiator and it wouldn’t fit in the garage, so I parked in the drive way at night and K got a 75.00 dollar ticket. The house is visibly very, very clean but it does smell. Now this could have been because it hadn’t been opened up in awhile when we got there. It has a huge walk in closet but like 3 hangers. Which pretty much makes the closet useless. Then there is the wierd toilet. It couldn’t be in a worse place in the bathroom and it constantly opens and closes. Absolutely no other complaints inside the house at all..Now if you are a person that likes to sleep in, you can for get that! Trash trucks come down the street at 6am everyday picking up and slamming down cans, back up beepers loud as hell, and because of the awesome location of the house these trucks are about 30’ from your bed! Now that I am done complaining.. My family had ABSOLUTELY THE BEST TIME I have ever had in California in my entire life staying at this home. It is a beautiful space, the house is very clean, the location couldn’t be more perfect if you want to be by the water! The views are impressive to say the least. The online photos make it appear as though the house is sitting high up on a 3 or 400 foot cliff it’s not at all. It’s maybe 50 to 75 feet high. Either way there are ample paths to walk down to the beach. I ran out f space to write. Sorry! Rent it!!!!! It’s well worth it!!!!!
