Lyndoch Grand (old Hotel ) is a very special property with wonderful history , character and owner/ hosts. We were a family group of 11 ! the 7 bedrooms were perfect for us all with various large recreational rooms and spaces for relaxing , playing billiards, sitting on couches, or the verandahs, or cosy sitting/ dining rooms! We felt so comfortable and welcome , especially with some special requests for some elderly family members easily met , and with generous supplies of everything !! This is a well equipped house ! Attention to detail was so evident , reflective of the owner/hosts passion for the buildings heritage and making this a very memorable stay.It is a peaceful place, though easy walking distance from the centre of Lyndoch. A favourite feature was the large back garden surrounds, a picture of colour and cottage like garden perfect for a childs imagination of a natural fairy garden :) We look forward to returning ! Thank you Robyn and Darren :)

The house is beautiful and so well looked after. Every corner has a surprise. Beds were comfortable. Linen was top notch. Location was excellent. Cannot fault it and Robbie was so lovely when she greeted us. I highly recommend this gem.

Family easter

The property was a perfect setting for my husband and me, children and spouses and grandchildren. We appreciated the care from our hosts in having all the little extras available, a lovely cheese plate and warm welcome. Beautiful historic house to explore the Barossa

Lyndoch Grand is a magnificent historic building in a great central location in Lyndoch, beautifully furnished with local antiques. We stayed here as a group of 12 for 3 nights, a home base from which to explore the Barossa Valley. It's also an easy walk to the local IGA, cafes, bakeries, restaurants and brewery. The weather was extremely hot during our stay but the house was cool and refreshing. The kitchen is very well stocked for cooking, and the communal areas were great for hanging out, highlights being the long dining table and the pool room upstairs. The beds were very comfortable. Darren and Robyn were excellent hosts - friendly and communicative before, during, and after our stay. Thank you!

Wonderful hosts

A big property with loads of history and a great vibe that accommodated a large group of friends, with wonderful creature comforts such as a Nespresso and a huge range of tea, with a lovely cheese platter awaiting us. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and were very helpful when I realised I’d left behind my earrings!! I highly recommend!!

Nurses reunion

Fabulous house for our group to spend a few days reconnecting, eating and drinking, laughing, chatting and enjoying the Barossa. So comfortable for a big group with so much space to spread out. Kitchen is stocked with all you need - and the lovely big welcome platter was wonderful. Really recommend!!

Family reunion

We could not have enjoyed it more. The place is like living in art. So much history and all shared by Darren the friendly owner. The rooms are so eclectic and special to stay in. Enough space for many people, and also places to sneek away for introverts like me. I would recommend to anyone.

Beautiful weekend getaway

We loved our stay at Lyndoch Grand. Darren and Robyn are amazing hosts. The property in itself was spectacular and was made even more special through getting to know the history, which Darren very kindly took time to explain. All the essentials we needed for our stay was readily available and Robyn even went the extra mile to prepare a welcome platter with local produce which was delicious. We had the best time and couldn’t have asked for more from Darren and Robyn. I highly recommend Lyndoch Grand if you’re looking for a place to base yourself and explore the beautiful Barossa Valley region.

Great place for a family gathering!

We were a group of 11 with other family also staying in other Lyndoch accommodation. The house was excellent for our requirements, comfortable rooms, lots of areas for groups of people, particularly the pool room. Lots of character and nice and warm even in the middle of July! The welcome platter was a lovely gesture and we highly recommend this historic accommodation. Very convenient for local wineries and the Ministry of Beer plus supermarket and Lord Lyndoch restaurant,

Spacious yet homey

We are return visitors to this beautiful property. It has wonderful space yet still has the feel of a cozy home. We spent a lot of time outside admiring the lovely backyard. The hosts are extremely accommodating with wonderful communication, they have passion for this property too. We will likely be back.

Grand was the experience

Our group of 10 adults loved our 3 night stay in a piece of history. All facilies needed for in house activities, plenty of kitchen and pantry items including welcome platter, teas and coffees, condiments and lots of tea towels. Close to eats, pub and wineries.

Extra Long Weekend in the Barossa

We had 8 of us staying, rooms were great, facilities were great, we didn't need to bring much with us. Great location and nice to not have to worry about neighbours around. We had a great time and would definitely stay there again,

Beautiful piece of history!

Our group of 13 had the best weekend away staying in this gorgeous historic grand villa! Every room was immaculately clean with great attention to detail. Perfect location surrounded by gorgeous gardens. Our host, Darren was fantastic to deal with, very welcoming & nothing was too much trouble. We’d highly recommend staying here & we’ll definitely be back next year!!

Perfect!

We were a group coming together from around Australia to celebrate an 80th Birthday. Darren and his wife were the perfect hosts and the property was incredible. The kitchen was stocked for us including and amazing platter of cheeses and salamis and fruit etc. It is an old property that has been renovated to keep the feeling of the past and is roomy and comfortable. The pool table was great too. This property is a terrific option for a group and will make you feel you have stepped back in time. Thanks so much Darren - you made the weekend!

The heritage-listed Lyndoch Grand is perfect for large groups of up to 14 guests under the one roof, with exclusive use of the entire property. It's well set up for family reunions, special birthdays and events and it's just two minutes walk to the Lyndoch Hotel, supermarket, cafes, restaurants and wineries. Lyndoch is the gateway to the world famous Barossa Valley and it's the perfect base from which to explore the wider region.

Hva gjør dette overnattingsstedet unikt?

With seven bedrooms over three levels, Lyndoch Grand comfortably accommodates 14 guests under the one roof. There's a fully equipped kitchen downstairs and a kitchenette upstairs, with three and a half bathrooms, too. The huge entertainment room features a billiard table, luxury lounges and views over the Barossa Ranges. Guests can relax in the large lounge room, upstairs sitting room, front balcony, back balcony or on the outside brick-paved undercover patio. The cellar bedroom is accessible via a cat-iron spiral staircase, originally part of the Port Adelaide Wool Stores and features a slab slate flooring. The back yard is home to scores of native birdlife species, including galahs and kookaburras who frequent the centuries old river red gums , You won't find another place like Lyndoch Grand anywhere in the Barossa!
