Comfortable, quiet place for vacation
Our first time at your lovely property. The house was comfortable, well stocked, very neat and clean ! We loved the beautiful views of the Reach; enjoyed the flowers and butterflies as we walked down to your beach to explore.
Most of all, it was peaceful and quiet ! We hope to return again when we vacation in this area.
Thanks for posting Nancy and so glad you enjoyed yourselves.
We so loved our time here! I’m really picky about sound and this Home was the perfect quiet get away! We had so much privacy both in the home and along the water! It was the perfect spot to enjoy being together as a family. We loved watching the tides and looking for jellyfish and shells. The water front was constantly changing! It was amazing.
This home was also a great base to visit Acadia, Bar Harbor and Stonington.
We definitely recommend Coldwater Seafood in Stonington! We ordered precooked lobster and other seafood and had our own feast at the house. We had everything we needed for cooking right there.
We highly recommend this home for a quiet relaxing retreat!
We're so glad you enjoyed it Karyn. You mentioned the one thing that always amazes me - and that is how the landscape changes with the changes of the tide. Thank you and we're so glad you enjoyed it.
Great week - again!!!
We love this house, the area and the owner, Pat. So relaxing, clean, comfortable and a great yard which our dog absolutely loved. We enjoyed checking out Stonington, Blue Hill, Castine and Brooklin. It was our 4th time staying here and each time it was very hard to leave!
Tranquility, Charm, and Beauty
My husband and I just spent a week at this very special property. We both desperately needed some time away and to unplug. We took our dogs with us on this vacation. Pulling into the drive a sunset and amazing view awaited us! It was the beginning of a perfect week.
I don’t even know where to begin with the praises for this charming piece of heaven. The privacy of the large property was absolutely wonderful, and it allowed us to have the dogs off leash to romp and run. Our many walks down to the shore to catch the tide at different times was so relaxing with the scent of ocean salt and pine in the clean fresh air. The little shed down by the water had some beach chairs so we were able to park ourselves right by the water and just take in the beauty and watch the boats go by. The view anywhere on the property is gorgeous with beautiful ocean frontage! Up by the house, the big lilac bush was in full bloom and the smell carried to the deck on breezy mornings. Sitting on the deck with a nice mug of coffee and taking in the unsurpassed view was a daily blessing.
The farmhouse is cozy and well stocked with everything needed to cook and enjoy meals. Although it was just the two of us, the home is spacious enough for a small family with two bedrooms upstairs and one on the main floor. The property location is great for sightseeing Deer Isle as well Bar Harbor, Acadia, Bass Harbor, etc.
One recommendation for new people – if you will be arriving late to the property, make sure you have picked up provisions for dinner and breakfast. The island doesn’t have shops or restaurants open past 7-8.
I can honestly say that we came home relaxed and recharged. We were a bit sad to leave as we and our dogs had such a nice time!
Beautiful relaxing week at the farmhouse!
We had a wonderful, quiet week exploring the area and taking our dogs (labs) first for a swim each day at least once, and for walks to the area preserves and State Park. A favorite was the Settlement Preserve with the old granite quarry and harbor views! Sadly the Granite Museum was closed. Others include the Holbrook State Park and Blue Hills trails. This house has a view to die for and was cozy, welcoming, clean, and very well stocked with anything we might need for our week away. Our only regret is that we scheduled our week just a bit too late to catch the ferry to Isle au Haut Acadia park landing for some of the walks there. Next time for sure! Thank you very much Pat for sharing your beautiful home for a restful week! Cindy and Jeff
We're so glad that you had a good time and your dogs too! We hope you come back next summer. Pat
