We enjoyed the property very much. It is very clean and the location allows for walking anywhere in the French Quarter. LaShonda was great at meeting us and helped us get checked in.
Because of the Corona Virus, everything around us closed on Monday. We did find a small grocery store that was open and allowed us to enjoy another day on the property. We ended up having to leave two days early as there was nowhere to go and nothing to do. Interesting times for sure.
Also - the sofa bed is broken. The best way to sleep is to put sheets on the couch and not pull out the bed.
We never heard from the owner and left a few messages through the VRBO message system.
Nice space, good location
This place is in a great spot for those who want to see a few different neighborhoods. Very close to the French Quarter, but easy to walk downtown or to the Bywater as well. Our only complaint was the unit upstairs (which seemed like another vacation rental). There were very loud guests over the weekend, which made this otherwise peaceful spot less so.
Mardi Gras Oasis
Great place to stay, from the location to the accommodations. We stayed here during Mardi Gras weekend and found it a great location, tucked between the Quarter's edge and the adjoining Faubourg Marigny. Only .5 miles to Cafe du Monde with good access to the highway and a parking lot across the street. (Be advised the lot may be oversold; we booked a 4-day pass thru SpotHero, yet almost lost access due to others buying space on the spot during a busy weekend.) The unit is on the ground floor, with minimal street noise, but some banging from residents above. It’s in great, renovated condition, with all the amenities others have mentioned. Gerald, the property manager, was good about communication and coordinating an early check-in. Only caveats: this isn’t a hotel, so, while it’s stocked initially, Gerald told us to buy any toilet paper we needed past the “starter kit”. Also, the queen sofa bed was broken; the head slants downwards at a sharp angle, making sleep difficult. Gerald was advised of this and said he’d fix it and/or get us an air mattress, but he never did.
