Its all about the view
A comfortable and warm flat with quirky 70’s character furnishings and fittings. Beds are comfortable and the bedding may have seen better days but Is perfectly clean and adequate. A little patience is required it has to be said with the hot taps, as the water makes its seemingly long trek from the tank, but you soon get used to its insistent retro pace. Electric shower is basic but works fine and even feels possibly unintentionally ECO, which probably balances out the toilet cistern which is strictly old school, dispensing enough water for at least 2 modern day flushes. Radio was already tuned to R4 - big tick. Telly good. 4G reception with EE fine. The beautiful unobstructed wide view across the estuary is this property’s USP. Boats and ferries on the water and the steam train chugging on the opposite bank. The kitchen has all the appliances you would need and there is access down metal staircase to the car at rear and a nearby Marks and Sparks around the corner. A really nice place and location for a weeks break.
The apartment may be from the 1960s but everything does what it needs to*. There is off-street parking, a great view of the river and only 200 metres on the flat to the town centre. (* The rather weak shower was a minor disappointment.)
Dartmouth holiday apartment
Excellent views and location, handy for town centre shopping. As suggested price reflects old fashioned interior in particular the bathroom/shower.
In today's climate of saving water the toilet should, we feel, be replaced with a modern low volume flush unit. If the owner is not prepared to go to this expense the simple expedient of putting a couple of wrapped bricks in the toilet cistern to reduce the volume of water used may be a solution!
Otherwise a most enjoyable holiday.
