Ideal Northern Minnesota getaway
This is the cabin I've been looking for the past 10+ years! It's private/secluded but not too remote; it's rustic but has everything you need; and it's located on one of the most beautiful lakes in Minnesota. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be returning next year!
couldn't be better
everything was as great or better than we imagined. if you; are looking for a place to relax and have privacy, this is the place for you. one week is not long enough, as it just flew by. i highly recommend this lovely cabin to everyone.
Most beautiful place!!
Everything about this property is amazing. The location of the island is close to the boat ramp and an unlimited number of places to explore. The cabin is beautiful and so very cozy! This was our second year there and we have booked next year.
Owner is very nice and informative. The cabin has all the comforts of home. Beautiful views anywhere you are on the island. Relaxing! Highly recommend to anyone looking for breathtaking views, quiet getaway, or just unplugging from life for a week. Was EVERYTHING I wanted and more!
Your own private island on one of Minnesota's most beautiful lakes!
We had a very nice time here. We have friends that also have a cabin on an island on Burntside Lake, so we were familiar in general with the lake. It's gorgeous -- if you close your eyes and think about the "land of sky blue waters", this is the place. (In fact, this lake and Pork Chop Island were featured in many of the print ads for Hamm's Beer way back when...)
The cabin was very comfortable and cozy. The wood stove provided plenty of warmth on the chilly September nights, and the beds were comfy. Being in the wilderness and still having access to hot showers, a gas stove/oven, and plenty of places to sit and read made it a luxurious alternative to camping. We also brought our 2 basset hounds, and it was fun to let them roam around without worrying about them getting lost. (And yes, we picked up after them - as should everyone considering visiting this special place with a dog).
Would definitely like to go back - next time we might try a little earlier in the season, but you really can't go wrong with this property or lake.
Oh, one last thing: we rented a pontoon from Lady Bug Lodge and that worked out very nice. We called and they met us at the landing with the boat -- they handled putting it in and taking it out. We just had to hop in and boat over to the island which wasn't too far from the landing.
