This gorgeous quaint cabin is meticulously maintained. It seems to be the essence of Island Park from many years ago, especially in the fall. You are steps from the river. Every day, we could watch ducks and pelicans and ospreys. The screened in front porch is so comfortable and relaxing; the kitchen had everything we needed. The check-in and checkout process was very easy. Upgraded this year with WiFi which worked well for messaging and wifi calling. Plenty of directions in the house if we had any questions and an impressive cabin binder of information to help you see many other wonderful sites of the area. This was our first trip to Island park and I can’t think of a better introduction to the area. Thank you Laurie for sharing your beautiful home.
My wife and I recently spent 6 days at this beautifully restored historic cabin along a quiet stretch of the Henry's Fork River. We honestly expected a more rustic living experience, considering the cabin is a century old, but Laurie (the owner) has done such an amazing job refurbishing and modernizing the cabin (while still retaining rustic charm and decor) that we were satisfied beyond our expectations. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have slept in in a rental home and the kitchen was one of the most well appointed we have ever experienced. THere is a bed in the main living area which we used for lounging but this could easily double as a bed for additional guests if needed. THe location is so quiet and relaxing, and we enjoyed the early evenings just gazing out across the water from the porch/patio area, as a fire burned in the fireplace. One of the days we had the opportunity to watch a young moose graze on the undergrowth in the water just 50' out front of the cabin. Laurie has a kayak and canoe there for use and we enjoyed taking pleasant rides up and down the river during our stay. It was obvious in my conversations with Laurie prior to arrival that she takes great pride in the cabin (it has been in her family for years), and it was very clear why after our stay there. This is a very special place to vacation, and so we will be returning next year for another stay. Thanks Laurie for giving us the opportunity to rent from you!
Cozy cabin on the Henry’s Fork
This cabin is a cozy, authentic log cabin that is very comfortable! The setting is very beautiful and peaceful. The owner is incredibly responsive and helpful. It is a place to unwind and unplug. The weather was a bit uncooperative, but we were still able to see many sites and fished several days.
Thanks so much for sharing your amazing cabin with us. It is the perfect setting......peaceful and quiet and outside the bustle of yellowstone but close enough for daily visits to the park if you so choose, but at the same time so many other wonderful activities to enjoy in the island park area. We couldnt have asked for a more perfect setting than your cabin.
Laurie was very easy to work with and very helpful and went out of her way to check on us throughout our stay and made sure we knew she was available if we had any questions. Didnt want our vacation to end.
I am so happy you enjoyed the cabin and your trip! Thank you for your wonderful review and thank you so much for taking great care of the cabin! Come back any time!
This cabin is exactly as described, but even better. The cabin is cozy, comfortable and clean and the scenery is breathtaking. The owner greeted us upon arrival and gave us great advice about the cabin and things to do in the area. We also had the convenience of WIFI for texting and emailing when necessary. It is also stocked with everything you need to cook and play. We saw moose, blue heron, white pelican and a bald eagle almost every day. It was fun sitting on the deck while reading a book and watching the fish jump. There are so many things to see and do in Island Park., but staying in this cabin is the best! We will book this again ... and hopefully soon!
Thanks so much for your wonderful review! We do our best to make the cabin a wonderful experience and I am so glad we accomplished that for you and that you enjoyed it so very much. You took impeccable care of the place and I look forward to having you all back soon!
