I was in NYC for a week for the food & cooking network food & wine festival & see a taping of GMA & The Tamron Hall show & stay at Ms.kim place & have to say it was the most comfortable & affordable home . Better then any 5 star hotel I ever stay at .. I felt at home ... the long time resident there was super nice & I definitely booking again when in town .. It a hidden Harlem gem
Clean, up to date, lousy customer service and response
This place works fine for the budget minded in Manhattan. Key-coded locks for external and room doors. Remote and onsite management did not communicate with each other to prepare for my visit, I got their with no key codes and didn’t know that I’d need them. Onsite management would not answer the phone when I arrived Friday night and didn’t know to expect me - didn’t know my name. We got through that. Got my code and partial instructions for the key coded locks - the important detail being that the touch pad for the external door doesn’t work well to signal that the code was successfully entered. I was told that I should “press hard” on an iPod-like touch screen. I think the lock was actually working and to open the door took some effort of a 6’3” 190 lb male. Hmmm... calls for help went unanswered. Calls to HomeAway went unresolved. Finally got the remote landlord on the phone and tried a different code and got in but I think it was unfamiliarity with the lock and force needed to open the door that was the issue-basically I needed more training. I think a replacement touch screen and audible chimes to acknowledge correct code entry are needed. So all’s we’ll that ends well but the process to get to well was not acceptable. The offsite manager communicated well, and the onsite manager did not communicate if at all. This team needs to get their own procedures and training in place.
To assist our many guests with various check in dates and times we allow for a VIRTUAL 24 hour check in. You must be able to operate a smart lock using a key pad and the warmth of your hand to access the premises. If you need assistance checking in then you will need to schedule a check in time after 3pm. As instructed with all guests upon arrival, you must call to gain access to the door codes. At which time you are walked through gaining access via the phone.
