A "Casa Araújo" é uma excelente moradia, construída em 2014, situada num promontório, bem sobre a vila e a praia da Ponta do Sol.
A vista é soberba, nomeadamente na área dos terraços exteriores; um terraço em frente à sala com cerca de 40 metros e outro maior num nível superior. Simplesmente magníficos! Lugar ideal para o café da manhã, ou para repousar, se deliciando com os fantásticos pôr-do-sol!
Possui uma grande zona de barbecue, junto aos terraços, com wc integrado.
O interior, amplo e luminoso, é composto por três quartos, três wc, cozinha, sala de jantar, sala de estar, lavandaria e bbq.
Apresenta um estilo prático e jovial, onde a claridade e o sol, entram por todo o espaço.

Une maison et un accueil de haute qualité

C'est quand le temps est mauvais que l'on a sans doute l'opinion la plus fiable d'une location où l'on reste alors plus souvent. Tout y était parfait : l’accueil de Nelson, les prestations de la maison. Une vue dégagée sur la mer (par temps clair !), des volumes spacieux, une terrasse solarium bien orientée (il n'y manquait que le soleil !).Des randonnées qui partent de l'église du bourg, un emplacement pour le parking (à plat ! chose exceptionnelle!). Un équipement domestique très complet, de la literie neuve ..il n'y a rien à redire ... La situation est centrale, non loin des grands axes est-ouest et nord-sud. Un endroit parfait pour le repos et le départ de promenades "nature". A recommander.

Hello Nelson, thank you, we had a good return. Our house, the Casa Araújo, we really liked. The house is very spacious, very well equipped and has a large terrace with a wonderful view over the valley to the sea. There afternoon to relax after great walks, we liked the most. Nelson, you're a very lovable and reliable caretaker. Thanks for the information and the delicious fruits, wine and coffee on arrival. 'Fantastic!!!!

What can we say, it was the best flat we ever have had. All things you need in vacation you can find. The view from the terraces are fantastic. You have enough space for four persons. We enjoyed the hole days. The manager keep the house, whenever you want or you have some problems. His kindness was wonderful! (Thank you so much Nelson Silva!!!!) If we have time to get back, we will take this flat again!!!!

Super Urlaub mit einem kleinem Makel

Unser Urlaub war genau wie wir uns Madeira vorgestellt hatten. Die Lage des Hauses ist wie beschrieben und erlaubt dir einen wunderschönen Blick über die Bucht von Ponta do Sol. Wir konnten jeden Tag das Frühstück auf derTerrasse genießen. Das Haus ist modern eingerichtet, in perfekter Lage und bietet alles was man für einen gelungeneren Ullaub benötigt. Einzig der muffige Geruch am Morgen haben wir zu bemängeln. Der kommt sicher von der hiesigen Kanalisation und ist nach lüften des Hauses in wenigen Minuten verschwunden. Danke auch an Nelson, der sich größte Mühe gibt bei allen Problemen zu helfen!! Februar 2016 Daniela, Thea & Henning

A very nice accomodation

We stayed one week in Casa Arauja and is very pleased with the standard of this villa. The villa has everything you need from kitchen to terrace and is located with a magnificent view over Ponto do Sol. Beautiful accommodation with an amazing view! Welcoming, friendly host.

The Casa Araujo was all it was advertised to be and more. The photos don't do it justice. It is very spacious, airy & clean. The facilities are very functional with all of the amenities required (although a hanging wardrobe in the second bedroom would be nice). Beds are very comfortable & provided for a restful holiday! The kitchen is well equipped and was a joy to prepare meals in. The location is convenient to the entire island... if you have a car. There is parking available accessed by an interesting, narrow road. Driving in Madeira can be an adventure (if you like roller coasters!) Our host, Nelson was very helpful, both prior to our arrival and, at all times during our stay. We look forward to maintaining contact with him, and to re-visit this lovely island again, hopefully in the near future. Obrigada!

Nous avons été particulièrement touchés par l'accueil plus que chaleureux avec une multitude de petites attentions. Jaôa nous attend malgré notre retard de plusieurs heures. La maison est telle que présentée, le service tel que proposé. Agréable maison avec fournitures de base. Toutes nos demandes ont trouvé une réponse prompte et efficace. Bien qu'âgés les propriétaires se sont non seulement inquiétés de notre bien-être mais malgré l'heure très matinale nous ont dit au revoir. La vue est magnifique, le lieu reposant et calme et les couchers de soleil à couper le souffle. Coup de coeur pour Cais, petit restaurant sur la falaise près de la plage avec une patronne très enjouée. Merci pour tout Joâo!

Unique house and surroundings on Madeira

After 14 days in the brand new house in Ponta do Sol we highly recommend it to other guests. The ad description matches reality completely and during the preliminary inquiry Mr. Silva was very accommodating and helpful with the questions we had. Mr. Silva made the stay very pleasant and was available during the full stay with everything we needed. It is evident that the owners, who live in the house next door, truly wished that we enjoyed the stay and had everything we needed. The house is large, light and friendly. It is very clean, well organised and outdoor facilities are unique. The terrasse in front of the living room is private and has a fantastic view. And there is an even bigger roof top terrasse with an almost 360 degree view of the surroundings. On the other side of the house there is a private and partly covered yard where shadow and shelter is always available. The court yard is perfect for mid day heat and if the wind picks up at night besides also being well suited for BBQing. We stayed outside most of the time, as the climate on Madeira in the weeks we were there was perfect and very pleasant. The outdoors environment can only be described as being unique. Many meals were prepared in the kitchen which was great for the purpose. Madeira's markets hold a variety of good ingredients among that fresh fish, and fruit and vegetables can be found in great quantities and of high quality. The house is well situated on the island in regards to seeing the other areas. The island offers numerous experiences and after 2 weeks we recognize that the island is well worth another visit. We give the the house our warmest recommendations to friends and family, and others intending to holiday in Madeira. Torben and Lone, Denmark

Hiking paradise

We loved our week in Madeira island. Ponto do sol was the oerfect appt to access every trail with no more than 45 min driving. Levada nova was our favorite hike and within 3k of rental. Rental was fabulous with million dollar views. The washer was so handy for muddy clothes after hiking. Check in/ out was easy. Parking was available next door. We would come again for sure! We used the recommended car hire from house manager. One thing about driving - you need a small car for the narrow roads but you need some power for the hills and sharp turns. This was one of the best holidays of our life. Thank you!

Traumhaus mit Blick auf Ponta do Sol

Ein toller Wanderurlaub auf Madeira. Das Haus ist sehr gut ausgestattet, es fehlt an nichts. 3 Bäder = Luxus. Es bietet Platz für 6 Erwachsene. Die Aussicht von den 2 Terrassen ist grandios! Wir haben jeden Tag draußen gefrühstückt. Besonders hervorzuheben auch der offene Kamin zum Grillen. Der Empfang und die Betreuung durch Nelson - einfach super. Er ist 24/7 verfügbar. Vom Haus in den Ort dauert es zu Fuß 10 Minuten; zurück wegen der beträchtlichen Steigung 20 Minuten. Im Ort gibt es eine kleine Auswahl an Restaurants. Direkt an der Tankstelle befindet sich ein gut ausgestatteter Supermarkt. Einige Wanderungen kann man direkt vom Haus aus starten. Besonders zu empfehlen ist die Levada Nova. Wir hatten ein Mietwagen, waren dadurch sehr mobil und haben Wanderungen auf der ganzen Insel unternommen. Prinzipiell sollte man den Tag zum Wandern früh starten, sonst wird es bei einigen Wanderungen doch sehr voll. Fährt man mit dem Auto nach Funchal, gibt es direkt neben der Seilbahn ein Parkhaus. Wir waren 2 Wochen auf Madeira und werden mit Sicherheit noch mal wiederkommen! Vielen Dank Nelson.

Very comfortable house and wonderful host!

This balcony view from this home was STUNNING, and the home very clean and comfortable. Our host was wonderful, and provided a lovely "care package" of traditional treats and wine, coffee, and home-produced eggs and bananas. Nelson was friendly, gracious, communicative, and provided recommendations and advice for our stay. For me, the highlight of our trip was hiking the Ponta do Sol levada - spectacular natural beauty of sea, mountains, waterfalls, plants and flowers. However, please be aware that there are sheer drop-offs, and this trail would not be suitable for young children or those who are not sure-footed. Thanks for a great vacation, Nelson!

Gorgeous place with a view

We loved our stay here. The location was great - could even walk to a small restaurant/bar up the street. Incredible view and the hosts were lovely. Beds were very firm but that was our only slightly negative thing about the whole place. We loved it!

Perfect, clean and spacious house with a beautiful view

We were received by Nelson who made us feel welcome. Nelson was easy and accessible to get in touch with. He showed us around the house and was a super host, so cheerful and kind! The house is very spacious and clean. There are three terraces. We used the terrace In front of the living the most. Maybe if there would be some garden furniture on the rooftop, we would have used that one also. The beds (all box springs) were good and it was nice that there are more bathrooms (3 in total! There is also a bathroom in the outdoor kitchen!) The shower is really nice and the bathroom was spacious, clean and comfortable (with even a bubble bath which we didn’t use). We also were happy with the fan in our bedroom. The living room has new furniture, different from the pictures. It all looks nice and modern. And there is an attic with two more beds (boxsprings). So you have three different bed rooms and six sleepingplaces. We had a lot of privacy and the view from the terrace…. Wow, we loved it! We have spend a lot of time on the terrace, also in the night it is nice to look at the lights of the village. And beneath the terrace is a beautiful banana grove. The kitchen is wel equipped and has everything you need. The washing machine is a plus. In the night it is very quiet and you have all the privacy because the property is closed by a big electric fence. The car is easily parked above the house. Just be aware of a steep climb back from the village (20m)

The Casa was very clean, big rooms and a large livingroom with a fantastic view to Ponta do Sol. The house was well equipped, we did not miss anything. Everything is like the pictures on the Vrbo-site. The road to the house is very steep – like many roads on Madeira - but we could park our car at the neighbours house which was easier to access. Ponta do Sol was a good choice because it was most of the time sunny and warm while it was more cloudy in the center and north of the island. We enjoyed our stay at Home Araujo very much

Breathtaking View, Lovely House

Casa Arugo became our home for 3.5 months. We did not want to leave. The beds were so comfortable & there are 3 washrooms. It was great having the convenience of a washing machine as well. The host, Nelson is amazing. The owners were always accomodating & helpful when needed. The house is spacious, large, private, clean, new & has all the comforts of home but the view from the main very large balcony is spectacular. Words cannot describe the beauty you will wake up to every day from inside or outside as the entire wall to the outside is glass sliding doors. There is a second level balcony that is marvelous. The BBQ room is gorgeous. We used it many times for ribs, chicken & fish that we purchased at the large Continent grocery store in Ribera Brava. The house location is perfect to explore the extremely quiet neighborhood on foot. It is Madeira so it is hilly. The town of Ponta do Sol is a short walk where you'll find a smaller grocery store for all your needs. It also offers delicious baked bread & desserts as well as a coffee shop. There's a small enclosed mall. A little further is the beautiful ocean where you can swim. Also a five minute walk from the house you will find 2 convenient local taverns offering excellent food & drinks at unbeatable prices. It is best to have a car because there is so many incredible places to see on the island. Be sure to do your research for the many sights. Parking is convenient & safe right next door on the owners property. Madeira is one of the most beautiful places you will ever see. Staying at Casa Arugo was the perfect choice for us. We hope to return for another long stay next year

Disappointment ☹️

The house was very clean and the propery manager, Nelson, helpful and friendly. However, the house itself needs redecoration: some appliances work poorly (gas cooker), are old and difficult to use. The kitchen was poorly eqipped, there weren’t enough cups, kettles, there’s no dishwasher and all seems used and outdated. The furniture in the house also seem old and not comfortable, the living room is poorly and cheaply furnished. The bathrooms are old and outdated. The house needs redecoration asap. What was also a nuisance is the third bedroom: it’s placed upstairs but with no door and our adult daughter wasn’t comfortable there at all. In general: we don’t recommend the house and wouldn’t like to return there, though we loved Madeira and will be returning to the island for sure. But not to this property ☹️

Très belle maison, au calme, avec une vue incroyable. Petits cadeaux d'arrivée fort appréciables et appréciés ! Cuisine fonctionnelle avec tous les équipements nécessaires. Nelson nous a reçu avec beaucoup de gentillesse et nous a donnés plein de conseils. Merci à lui. Vous pouvez louer les yeux fermés.

Wir wurden von Nelson wunderbar empfangen. Als Willkommensgruß gab es Bananen aus seinem Garten mit anderen lokalen Spezialitäten. Das Haus ist angenehm groß und man hat zu viert sehr gut Platz. Es ist eigentlich fast alles vorhanden was man für einen entspannten Urlaub benötigt( einzig ein Geschirrspüler wäre noch sehr angenehm). Am schönsten fanden wir die Dusche im "Grillraum": Hier hat man während dem Duschen einen super Blick auf den Sonnenuntergang. Die Zufahrt ist sicher wie schon öfters beschrieben schmal, aber eigentlich kein Problem (Die Straße ist eine Einbahn; man kommt nur von oben zum Haus). Das einzige was ein wenig gestört hat war das WLAN: das funktioniert grundsätzlich super, aber nur im unteren Bereich; im Rest vom Haus war kein Empfang. Die Stechmücken waren auch etwas lästig, aber dafür kann niemand etwas. Zusammengefasst: 14 wunderbar Tage auf eine sehr schönen Insel im wahrscheinlich besten Eck von Madeira.
