Home away from Home
We spent 6 weeks at this property and enjoyed it. The pool area was fantastic for January and February and we spent every day outside by the pool soaking up the great winter sunshine. However, the water was too cold for swimming. It was clean and inviting. Truly an oasis to enjoy. There were a few quirks that the owner quickly addressed and we were satisfied with the place. It could use a deep cleaning and some updating, mostly cosmetic. The location was fantastic, easy on and off to the freeway #60 and convenient to lots of shops and restaurants. We hope to get back again next year.
There was a woodpecker according to the property manager, in the corner of master bedroom. My daughter and son in law thought it was an animal.
Front door lock was difficult to open and close, every single time.
All the beds were lumpy with a foam cover that didn’t help. The master bed cover didn’t fit.
The fireplace was advertised, but we couldn’t get it to work. When I called, property manager was very nice and offered to come over, but said gas fireplace was never used. I have a gas fireplace, and because she said it was never used, I decided to pass.
The downstairs bedroom had a broken cabinet, drawers missing knobs that were hard to open and curtains didn’t fit. No place to put our stuff.
Very small table on the patio and only 3 regular chairs, the rest were lounge chairs, and if I remember only 3 of those.
For what we paid per night, property was not as good as it should have been.
I had an issue with pigeons in the attic in 2019, but they were removed and additional protections were put in place to keep them from returning. I had the technician go back out to check on it again last week, and he said he saw no signs of any birds or rodents in the attic using his black light. He said he walked throughout the entire attic. The current guest has not heard any bird activity, and they moved in three days after the guest who left this review. I will continue to monitor this but the technician couldn't find anything.
I haven't had any complaints until now about the front door lock, nor the beds being lumpy. The gas fireplace should work, but usually it's hot in Arizona and not needed. None of my guests have ever needed to use it to my knowledge. I will, however, be sure it is in working order. I'll also address the front door lock and will replace the mattress pads. The downstairs bedroom doesn't have a closet in the room, but I encourage guests to use the coat closet across the hall from the bedroom. I will add a new dresser to the room as soon as I can. The function of the current bureau is mostly to support the new cable TV in the room, along with a couple of drawers for clothing.
The house isn't fancy, nor is it brand new. However, it is clean, comfortable, and especially well-suited for families. I advertise at least five chairs outside on the pool deck, and there are exactly five at the moment. I also regularly replace and upgrade furniture as it wears out. I'm sorry this guest was disappointed. I wish she had told me so that I could correct any issues to make her more comfortable during her stay. Above all, I want my guests to be happy!

Great location. Close to shopping, restaurants and freeway
Beautifully landscaped backyard with a large pool, pet friendly, roomy house, very comfortable. Excellent house for anyone relocating to Phoenix with a family and needing a place to stay. Great view of beautiful Phoenix sunsets from balcony. Owner is very helpful and quick to respond.
