Was ok 5-plex apt. Was $200 more then advertised price because of the hidden “special fees”. Fireplaces didn’t work, kitchen towels were thrown in a drawer filthy dirty, beer cans hanging from the light above the table, very few kitchen utinsels (like forks) and very basic cooking spatulas etc were non-existent. Got informed we couldn’t leave our trailer hooked onto our pickup, even though the lot was huge. They wanted us to cram it into some little spot 2 blocks away because “they have so many people coming”. We were the only ones in the 5-plex and had the entire parking lot to ourselves for all 4 days we were there. The snow was awesome, and that’s why we came. But who ever watches the VRBO cabins could learn a lot from Island Park Reservations.

If this is not your first time booking through VRBO, it should come as no surprise that the advertised price is simply just the nightly rate. With any rental home, there are always additional fees (cleaning, tax, insurance) that are then added to that cost. The description of this property is accurate and up to date - it is all about location in the heart of Island Park and is a duplex, as you share a single wall with the unit next door. This is one of our most popular Kabino rentals, as guests take advantage of the close proximity to Yellowstone and impeccable snowmobiling proximity to Big Springs Trailhead and fuel. We have not had any cleaning complaints for this rental, so it hard to believe that there were "beer cans hanging from the light above the table". However, if you had any issue with cleanliness, we would have immediately assisted had you called to report, as we are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. As for parking your trailer, we do not have control over the regulations of the lot. There is an HOA with this duplex that manages the lots and rules for parking, which is outside of Kabino's control. We are deeply apologetic that you were not able to enjoy this great property, and we wish you the best of luck in your future bookings. We encourage all guests to have a clear understanding of the property they are booking prior to confirmation.
Comfortable stay and cool views
We enjoyed our stay here. The place was clean and comfortable. The morning view was awesome through the master bedroom windows. Anything we could have imagined needing for our three-day stay was there. Somehow, we didn't realize this was a unit in a condo community on the edge of a golf course. . . there wasn't a problem with that, we just missed that detail. There is a small grocery store just around the corner, and, despite the warnings from other Island Park visitors, we didn't find things to be outrageously priced. We had a really great experience.
Unclean and not prepared for guests
The property has potential and is nice and roomy. However the beds were not made nor the sheets clean. We had to do laundry and make beds ourselves. Had to purchase laundry detergent to prepare beds. Supposed to house up to 10 people - we had 4, and there were only 3 teaspoons & 4 coffee cups. Many of the light bulbs were burnt out, bathrooms extremely dark. Place was dusty. Need new housekeeping service and need to do an inventory on basic supplies.
It is a lovely property that needs a little work and cleaning.
It's 22 miles west of West Yellowstone which was kind of a drag since our trip was about the park. There were slats missing on the both sets of double doors (patio & bedroom) so privacy was lacking. Shower door in upstairs bath was off the track, the light by the bed in upstairs main bdrm didn't work, nor did the TV. The whole place was dusty and the downstairs bathroom needed new caulk & grout (had areas that were black) and lots of long black hair in the bathroom. We all have short, light-colored hair. As I said, the house was nice but needed some TLC.
