            Recent Woody Point Reviews

Great historic home - perfect home-base for hiking!

            5 of 5
We had a great visit to Gros Morne National Park and loved having Hezikiah House as our home base! The house is just minutes away (literally - like 15 minutes or less) from the Gros Morne Discovery Center, Tablelands Trail head and the Green Gardens trail head, perfect for hikers. You are also a pleasant drive around the bay to the Rocky Harbour side of the park for hiking Gros Morne itself and the Western Brook Pond Boat Tour (simply beautiful!). You can also walk right down the road into Woody Point for coffee, ice cream and viewing the local light house - and there were a a few pub/cafes that looked good as well! The house is exactly as described - very historical but modernized with the necessities. There's a nicely equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, super-comfy couches, wifi and lots of books to read. Plenty of space for us to spread out in - while still feeling super-cozy. Only thing I would note is to make sure to read the description and be aware that this is a historic home - the stairs are a bit steep and have an unusual landing at top - our elementary age daughter had absolutely no trouble with them but they probably aren't suitable for families with toddlers/preschoolers who aren't used to stairs. Thanks for sharing this little bit of history with everyone!
