Ocean-view condo

4 of 5
The condo is clean and well appointed with everything you need. Edgar, the owner was very accommodating and provided a BBQ and coffee maker replacement. He also had a wealth of information of the island, places to eat, grocery shop and sightsee. The condo is in the hills overlooking the cruise ship terminal and Philipsburh to the north and the ocean and St. Bart's to the south. Only disappointment was discovering no air conditioning upon arrival but the ocean breezes kept us cool. Excellent dining in Philipsburg and the restaurants on the French side of the island are a delight. Driving is an adventure, two lanes of traffic but the motor scooters and motorcycles use the small space between lanes of traffic. Scarey when someone suddenly appears beside the driver's window! Only problem is that there are few street signs to guide you. All in all, an excellent place to stay. And yes, the large structure on the top of the hill on the other side of the valley is a prison.
