Romantic & Perfect in Every Way

5 of 5
Quiet, not overlooked and beautifully situated/appointed, Whispers is a place to get away from it all. The views from the terrace are magnificent, straight over to Mustique and down the The Grenadines chain. We hired a jeep for the week and once we'd got used to the steep, narrow roads on Bequia we found a couple of great beaches and some good restaurants and bars. Bequia is a jewel not to be missed - a bit lost in time so that you manage to totally unwind and kick back. If you want fast food and Starbucks this is not the place for you - but if you want Caribbean friendliness, great food, laid back/wonderful ambiance and great snorkeling then this is where you can find it all. Whispers itself is a lovely 3 bedroom villa, with great facilities and well looked after/maintained. High quality accommodation, linens & towels. Well equipped with everything that you need, and the manager is really super and very helpful. The pool is heavenly and well looked after and the outdoor furniture is comfortable and also of high quality. Sightings of iridescent hummingbirds and fireflies around the villa add to the romantic nature of the location. The pictures on this site do not do full justice to just how wonderful this place is. When we return to Bequia (which we absolutely will) we hope to be able to stay here again.

Wonderful experience!

5 of 5
Peter is a wonderful captain with a detailed knowledge of the Grenatines islands and was able to fit in 6 days what usually takes 7/10 days without making us feeling overwhelmed. We met him and his power boat (very large and comfortable), in St. Vincent and spent the first 2 days hopping from island to island fitting in an exceptional lunch in Mustique. On those nights we slept in hotels being our first time on a journey on a boat and not sure how we would have felt about sleeping on board (it was my husband and I and our 16 years old daugher). Peter was the one who reccomanded to split the trip using his power boat first and then change into his sailing boat (Kalimba), and sleep on board for 1 night while in Tobago Keys and then on land the other nights. That idea was brilliant as we were able to move fast on the first couple of days and then had the chance to experience sailing long enough to appreciate it without getting tired of being on board. We went from Kalimba II (power boat), to Kalimba which is a 45 feet long beautiful sail boat with 3 cabins and 2 bathrooms, very comfortable even when the wind is strong. Peter pretty much designed our itinerary knowing what we were interested in seeing bringing us to the different islands when events were going on and brought us to the local best snorkeling places almost every day. Our perfect journey ended in Curracau where we said goodbye to Peter and Kalimba feeling that we couldn't have had a more fulfilling experience. We never felt unsafe nor wished we knew more about sailing as Peter managed both boats completely on his own and didn't need any help. He is a lovely person with a passion for the ocean who has traveled all over the world and has an extensive knowledge of the winds and all the rules on water. Absolutely would reccomand him and his Kalimbas. See you next year Peter!
