Anna Maria and her daughter Lorella were great hosts. They were very warm and welcoming— making us espresso on our arrival! The house was the perfect spot for R and R after art and antiquities touring of the major Italian cities. It was also a great base for touring the Tuscan hills and the surrounding medieval towns. We wish we could have stayed another week! The dishwasher and washing machine were nice conveniences.
We had a short - too short! - spring break and though the weather kept changing we very much enjoyed the whole area around Cortona and staying in the house. I don’t think I’ve ever been anywhere so quiet, immersed in the green of the large well kept garden and the surrounding olive groves and oak forests. When we didn’t feel like touring, we enjoyed walks on the hills around the house and the countless wild flowers. So, so beautiful. The evenings were a bit chilly, but we had a good supply of firewood and enjoyed our evenings in front of the warm flames cuddled up on the sofa. We'll definitely be back! Thank you Tommy and Lucy, especially for all the useful hints and the wood.
