Third time and still love it

      5 of 5
Well another wonderful stay at La Palapa. This was our third time and we enjoyed it like our first time. Weather was great the entire time, more than we could ask for as we did go late October. Upon arrival, Carmen was working hard getting the house in perfect shape for our stay. We unpacked, relaxed and then headed to the Chedraui for groceries. This is a $70 pesos ride from the Pearl Desire which is a short walk from La Palapa and there is always a taxi there. If you don't feel like walking to the Pearl Desire you can go to your left when leaving the house and two houses down there is a condo complex where you will see a single taxi. This is Phillipe's taxi and he too will drive you to town. Just knock on the door and see if he's home. One piece of advise to new comers. Taxi costs, we had many prices quoted to us, it was crazy. Once at the Chedraui one taxi tried to ask for $160 pesos from there to home. We have always paid $70 so we took the groceries out of the trunk of the car and before you know it, they are agreeing to $70. Also at the taxi stand in town square we had them try and charge up to $100 pesos to get home when it had always been $50. We just said no thanks and if they didn't adjust the price we would go to the end of the street where the church is and across from there is where all the taxis wait to be called up to the line at the taxi stand. The best thing to do is quote the price you will pay and not ask them "how much to .....". So to be clear, $50 from the house to town square or back. $70 to the Chedraui or back. Once settled we noticed how much freshening was done to the house. New grout for the floor tiles, new light sconces, fresh paint and staining to the house, inside and out and newly painted patio area outside in the backyard. Not to mention the two styles of new loungers. The pool was sparkling and we used it each and every day. Was wonderful to come home from walks on the beach and just jump in to cool down. After three trips we finally met Nora. We had met Colleen on our previous trips but never had the pleasure to meet Nora so they made a special stop by for us to meet. These two ladies are wonderful gals All you have to do is ask and they are quick to respond to any wants or concerns you might have. Thanks ladies for another fabulous stay. Take care and we will see you again next year. Jennifer and John
