            Great get away!

            5 of 5
The Homestead was a much welcome get away from Houston, especially last week. The cabin was stocked with everything a person might need (bring your food and drink) to stay for several days, and we did. Fishing could have been better, or maybe the fishermen could have been better. I was told it was because of the full moon, the trout were feeding at night. More likely, I was not tying and weighting my fly correctly, which the fly shop will gladly share all the info you need. But just exactly what they mean when they say it a "technical" river? :) Overall, still a great and comfortable place to stay. There were many opportunities and accessibility to the river at the cabin and up Forrest Road 249 and Hwy 17 for fly fishing. We had an enjoyable time on the river and in the mountains. That's what we were looking for and boy was it great to be out of Houston. Thanks for opening up your cabin to us to enjoy.
