A cruise without ever leaving the balcony

                5 of 5
Let me start by saying how different Longboat Key is from the rest of Florida. My girlfriend and I stayed in the east coast (Fort Lauderdale - Miami) for few days before driving west to the far more lush greens and turquoise blues of Longboat Key. We are island lovers so this barrier island catered to the secluded and peaceful feelings we are used to when traveling to Caribbean Islands. This condo is usually booked from Sat-Sat (1 week min) but through good timing and the host's generosity, Jim Zilli, the owner of the condo, allowed us to come for a just a couple days! Right away, Jim made us feel like we were welcome with his quick and sincere replies to our emails, which to us makes the worlds difference when we stay at a strangers house. Feeling welcomed and knowing that the host genuinely wants you to have a great time makes for a much better experience. After a 3hr drive from the west coast, we pulled up to the condo (free parking), got the keys from the main office , headed up to the 5th floor (highest floor), opened the door, and were greeted by one of the most immaculate, well furnished, and roomy oceanfront condos we have stayed at. And the view was spectacular. Unobstructed views of a SUPER calm and flat Gulf of Mexico, which was so soothing given that the east coast ocean was quite rocky during our stay. The condo has a large living space with a huge dining table for 6 people, comfortable sofas and couch, a large TV, and a full glass wall that opens up to the balcony with high chairs, table, and even power outlet so you can use your laptop. The living space is accompanied by a kitchen with cooking utensils and dinnerware. The closets are stocked with tons of towels and beach towels. The bathroom has the necessary toiletries for a short stay. The bedroom had two very comfortable queen beds and a TV. Jim provides all his guests a guide to all the hot spots for food and activities on the island so make sure you get this when you book with him. We spent our few days relaxing on the balcony and swimming in the white sand beach right in front of the condo. Not the best place to snorkel given that the Gulf is pretty murky near the shore. You really have to go far out before the water starts to clear up. But nevertheless, we loved the extremely warm water and on the last day, saw tons of dolphins and a huge manatee while we were out swimming!! Great way to end our trip to Florida. Thank you Jim for memorable stay!

                Best beach house ever

If you like instant access to the beach, spacious living areas, a fully functional kitchen, a grassy yard, outdoor dining, dinnertime visits by Great Blue Herons and White Egrets, a warm swimming pool, etc. etc. etc., then this is the place for you. My family had a great time and spent every day on the beach, and at the pool. We dined in almost every meal, and enjoyed some beautiful sunsets. My wife and I took turns running and swimming in the morning. It was a dream vacation.
