Exactly the waterfront escape you're looking for!

We enjoyed our stay at 19 On the Bay so much we are already looking for dates to return. Notes on the cottage: the photos here are very accurate/actually do it justice; other than failing to capture the peace you will feel sitting in those Adirondack chairs or the incredible calm and quiet of both dusk and dawn - with only the call of a couple of nearby loons interrupting. The furnishings of the cottage are adorable - plush blankets, quirky lamps, etc. and there is comfortable furniture everywhere. For example, one bedroom features a firm mattress and the other a soft mattress - details that were much appreciated by our group. The amenities, too, abounded! Travel size toiletries were supplied for the item or two forgotten at home. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could possibly need (we cooked several meals both inside on the stove and outside using the grill.) Finally, the hosts, Carol and Steve, were welcoming, attentive, and really just some of the best people you could hope to meet. They thoughtfully prepared a binder full of information on the area, greeted us upon arrival and departure, answered all our questions, and provided excellent suggestions. Their warmth and kindness added to the joy of our (too) short stay.

Cute and cozy with good space

We enjoyed our time in this home. Had all that we could need from the kitchen to linens to sleeping arrangements. It was just our family of six and there was plenty of space for us to spread out. The finishing touches of this home make you feel like you're pampered. While it was about 45 min to an hour from Acadia where we traveled to the most, the ride was easy and the traffic was minimal. The small town of Bucksport was also fun and only about 15 min away. We enjoyed the deck and even the train. We would definitely stay here again.
