This One Was The Tops!

5 of 5
My family has rented properties in both the United States and Europe and this house -- and our host -- was the best we've experienced. It was perfect for our group of 13 - grandparents and two families with seven children. There was ample space to spread out and no battles over who would sleep where. The "bunkroom" with two sets of bunk beds and a large queen was perfect. We've never rented a home/apartment that had nearly every pot, pan and utensil we needed ... but this one did. All we had to purchase was a pot big enough to hold 14 ears of corn. We left it for the next occupants. The beach near the house is on the small side and Lake Michigan was sort of rough during our week, but the beaches at South Haven and Saugatuck were just a short drive and the kids loved them. There's also an isolated beach at the Saugatuck State Park that really was nice and worth the half-mile hike to it. Even though the kids couldn't run out the back door and jump in a lake, there was a really great hot tub that I think they enjoyed more than the beach. Our host was always accessible by phone or internet and was a pleasure to deal with. If our three families decide Lake Michigan is on the agenda in 2017, we'll make an early reservation because this one books up quickly.
