  • Great cottage, beautiful views, very convenient!

We totally enjoyed our stay at Maple Hollow. While on the enclosed porch or at the dining table, we had a beautiful view of the water. The rooms and beds were cozy, the kitchen well-stocked, lots of Canadian and U.S. channels on the cable TV, the bathrooms clean. We rented bikes and used the bicycle path right near the cottage. What's great is the rural setting, yet we're only 30 minutes from Halifax on Route 103, which is like a U.S. Interstate Highway. We hope to return!

  • Nice stay...

If you like modern amenities like big cushy beds and air conditioning, this may not be your first choice. If you like history, antique furniture, large wooden moldings, a house with history and location, location, location, you will love this place. It is literally a 50 minute drive , or less, from Halifax Harbor, Halifax airport, Peggy's Cove, Lunenbourg and all points in between. 5 minute drive around the corner from a gas station, liquor store, drug store and a grocery store. A couple minute drive the other way is a nice little semi private sandy beach. Major, larger beaches are a ten minute drive away. The beach/ ocean across the street had loons all around while we were there and watching the sunrise/sunset from across the street or from the porch was well worth the money. The pictures are very accurate, just check them out closely to see if this "historic" house is what you want. Large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and plenty of fans throughout made for a pleasant stay for us.
